  • Patent number: 7389333
Abstract: A method for provisioning a network element is included where a custom default file and a standard default file are provided in a network element. The custom default file includes one or more default parameters of a same type, but having a different value from, corresponding default parameters in the standard default file. Service parameters are determined based on the default parameters of the standard default file as modified by overriding default parameters of the custom default file. The service is generated based on the service parameters.

  • Publication number: 20070051298
Abstract: A method for generating and isolating a high free energy form of a compound or a mixture of compounds comprises the steps of placing a sample in a capillary tube, solidifying the sample in the capillary tube, and isolating a high free energy form of the sample. A method for searching for a high free energy form of a sample comprises the steps of placing the compound or mixture in a capillary tube, generating a solid in the capillary tube, and determining whether a high free energy form of the sample was generated. The sample may be a compound or mixture.

  • Patent number: 6557260
Abstract: Disclosed is a pizza cutting device that allows the user to cut a pizza in uniform, evenly-sized pieces on a consistent basis. The cutter consists of a circular frame that has a series of blades spanning across its hollow interior diameter. Sized so that the entire pizza fits within the interior diameter, the user simply presses down on a pair of handles located on the outside of the frame and the blades cut the pizza into uniform, even slices.

  • Patent number: 5850469
Abstract: The present invention is a system for real time tracking of position and orientation, termed "pose", of a remote camera. While remote cameras have been used on a regular basis to inspect machinery for wear or damage, knowing the exact location of a camera is difficult. Off-line feature extraction is employed with on-line pose determination. The feature extraction precomputes features from a CAD model of the object visible in a selected set of views. The on-line pose determination starts from an initial pose estimate, determines the visible model features, projects them into a two-dimensional image coordinate system, matches each to the current camera image, and uses the differences between the predicted and matched feature positions in a gradient descent technique to iteratively refine the pose estimate. The on-line portion of the system is designed to execute at video frame rates, providing a continual indication of borescope tip pose.

  • Patent number: 4459472
Abstract: There is disclosed an electric heating apparatus comprising a pre-formed body of thermally insulating material defining a cavity for receiving a vessel whose contents are to be heated, the body being provided with an electric heating element in or adjacent the cavity for heating such a vessel in use of the apparatus. The apparatus further comprises a housing in which the body is disposed with an air space between the body and the housing, the latter having openings so that convection air currents can flow through the air space in use of the apparatus for extracting heat via the air space.

  • Patent number: 4447405
Abstract: Bromide ions when used as the redox intermediates in the oxidation of arsenic (III) oxide to arsenic (V) acid can be removed from a solution having a major proportion of arsenic acid by treatment with an oxidant selected from H.sub.2 O.sub.2, O.sub.3 or Cr(VI) to oxidize the bromide to bromine followed by purging with air, nitrogen or other inert gas to sweep out the resultant bromine. The bromine can be recovered and recycled to a fresh batch of arsenic (III) oxide.

  • Patent number: 4084368
Abstract: In metal buildings, a plurality of purlins project down into the building and, in effect, serve as heat exchange fins, which conduct heat into the building in warm climates, and heat out of the building in cold climates. In order to counteract this phenomenon, each purlin is covered with a separate blanket of insulating material, which is held in place with a flexible sleeve that is laminated to the blanket. Two additional flexible sliding sleeves are used to complete installation at each end of the purlin.
