  • Patent number: 11262724
Abstract: The low profile of the flexible tooling system disclosed allows for flexible tooling to be added to nearly all CNC machines with an accommodating z-axis height and allows easier relocation of the system from one CNC machine to another. The system includes one or more pods, each of the pods of the system replacing the function of four independent actuators of earlier systems but operating with a shared mechanical frame. Arranging the mechanism into groups of four allows for greater density of part support spacing, minimizes cable requirements, and allows for air, vacuum, and vacuum sensor requirements be localized on each pod. The pods allow for part supports to be spaced as close as 6? in the x and y axis. An increased variable position assembly density allows for greater flexibility to hold complicated parts.

  • Patent number: 11262489
Abstract: A method of making a multi-layer coating on a substrate is provided and involves applying a mirror coating to a substrate then spraying a silicate topcoat onto the mirror coating. Applying the mirror coating can involve applying a reflective material to the substrate to form a reflective layer and applying an oxide layer to the reflective layer to form the mirror coating. The oxide layer can be made of one or more oxide layers, and each of the one or more oxide layers can include aluminum oxide, silicon oxide, or a combination thereof. The multi-layer coating provides increased IR emittance and decreased solar absorptance relative to conventional thermal control coatings.

  • Patent number: 11219922
Abstract: A method is provided to form a dust mitigation coating that also mitigates or repels water, ice, and other liquids. Techniques to coat the surfaces of equipment and items with these dust, liquid, and ice mitigation coatings, minimize or eliminate mission problems caused by dust, liquid, or ice accumulation, particularly in outer space or on another planetary body or moon. Further, the dust mitigation coatings exhibit a Lotus-like effect, making the coated surfaces ultra-hydrophobic. The present invention is also directed to techniques for improving the functioning of terrestrial-based equipment and systems where dust, liquid, or ice accumulation is a problem, such as in hospitals and other health contexts, to prevent contamination.

  • Patent number: 10972528
Abstract: A client device provides to a user, in an application associated with a social-networking service provided by a server system, a link to a page associated with a third-party service provider. The third-party service provider is distinct from the social-networking service. In response to user selection of the link, the page is loaded within the application. The page includes script for calling one or more application programming interfaces (APIs) of the server system. The client device calls the one or more APIs to obtain information associated with the user from the server system. The client device displays the page within the application, and uses the information associated with the user to conduct a transaction with the third-party service provider through the page.
