Patent number: 9767676Abstract: A security system including devices generating persistent data, a local control system (LCS) including a microprocessor and non-volatile memory and receiving persistent data from the devices, and a server remote from the LCS. The remote server is in communication with the LCS microprocessor which periodically transmits logical portions of persistent data (each including a timestamp) to the remote server where it is saved. The microprocessor also periodically saves the persistent data portions in LCS non-volatile memory less frequently than the persistent data portions are periodically saved in the remote data storage, and saves the timestamp in the local data storage for each persistent data portion saved only at the remote server. When rebooting the LCS, the microprocessor retrieves from the remote data storage only the persistent data portions having timestamps subsequent to the timestamp saved in the local data control system non-volatile memory.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 2012Date of Patent: September 19, 2017Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventors: Dougal Stanton, Robert John Probin, Martin Crisp, Kenneth Osborne, Alan Robert McWhirter

Patent number: 9528786Abstract: A weapon including a first portion of a disarming protection circuit integrated into a removable magazine clip. The first portion of the disarming protection circuit is integrated into the magazine clip and includes, a high voltage source, a receiver for receiving a signal from a transmitter and an output. A second portion of the disarming protection circuit includes a conductor assembly including an electrode that extends adjacent to an inside wall of a magazine compartment. The first end of the electrode is electrically connected to a conductor connection adjacent to the output of the first portion of the circuit. A second end of the electrode is disposed through the handle and is exposed from outside the handle. An actuator generates the signal that connects the high voltage source in the circuit to the electrode in response to the output from the receiver.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2014Date of Patent: December 27, 2016Inventors: Donald Eugene Chance, Dennis Harold Pitts, Wayne Kenneth Osborne

Publication number: 20050027850Abstract: A method and system to provide management information of network devices by mapping between SNMP MIB module schema and Common Information Model (CIM) schema. MIB modules are tree-structured lists of objects for describing SNMP network device information, whereas CIM schema employs user-intuitive, object-oriented classes to model such information. A mapping process enumerates the MIB objects and then maps the objects into CIM Managed Object Format (MOF) classes using defined mapping tables. A correlation mechanism is further provided to efficiently determine in real time which MIBs (or portions thereof) and corresponding CIM classes a network device supports.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 31, 2004Publication date: February 3, 2005Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Steven Menzies, Syed Ahmed, Kenneth Osborne, Rajeev Byrisetty

Patent number: 4793302Abstract: An oil cooler (1) is removably mounted on the side of an engine block (13) with a tubular coolant flow coupling (19) received as a push-fit in an aperture (18) in the block so that the coolant flow connection is simply made as the oil cooler is fastened to the side of the block. The coupling (19) may be a push-fit in respective axially aligned apertures (18,20) in the block and the cooler. The flow coupling may be an inlet coupling for coolant from the block. The end of the coupling that cooperates with the block has an extension (24) that projects into a coolant flow passage (17) in the block and is shaped to form an inlet opening that is directed laterally of the axis of the coupling and upstream of the coolant flow in said passage. The extension (24) collects coolant from said passage and produces a pressure drop in said passage.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 1987Date of Patent: December 27, 1988Assignee: Perkins Engines Group LimitedInventors: Kenneth Osborne, Howard J. Patent number: 4608950Abstract: A machine cover comprising a main body 1 having two or more apertures 6 closed by interchangeable inserts 8,9, at least one of which incorporates an inlet duct 12 so that this inlet duct can be located in one of two or more different positions in the cover. A pair of interchangeable inserts for an adjacent pair of apertures may be formed in a single component 8 that is reversible end-to-end and which cooperates with both apertures 6 so that the filler duct 11 is aligned with either one while the other aperture is closed. One or more blanking inserts are provided to close each of the other apertures, one blanking component 9 being provided for each pair of adjacent apertures if desired. Alternatively, the insert 18 incorporating the filler duct 11 may be insertable in each aperture 16 in each of two or more different orientations in each of which the filler duct is located in a different position.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 1984Date of Patent: September 2, 1986Assignee: Perkins Engines Group LimitedInventors: Derick B.
