  • Patent number: 4581894
Abstract: A hydraulic apparatus for converting hydraulic pressure into mechanical movement for operating a tool or other device, operated by a pump block having a bore therein and a moveable plunger disposed within said bore. A cylinder is disposed over the pump block. The cylinder is captively held over the pump block and is moveable with respect thereto along the common axis. A fluid reservoir is defined between the cylinder and the pump block, and contains the hydraulic fluid. The plunger is operated by a pair of moveable arms secured to the apparatus and causes pressure to build in the fluid in an inlet chamber which communicates between the pump block and the cylinder. A pressure control valve is mounted adjacent the pump block and limits the hydraulic pressure which may be applied in the system. A release valve and apparatus is provided for releasing the hydraulic pressure and returning it to the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 4449010
Abstract: An apparatus for providing a guard against electrical shock near an insulator carrying an energized, exposed conductor. In particular, this apparatus is intended for providing protection from electrical shock by providing a slotted insulator cover having means for moveably coupling a line guard thereto, said coupling means comprising a slotted ball and socket arrangement connected to the insulator cover and having a line guard adapter secured to the moveable portion of the ball and socket arrangement. By varying the degree to which the socket covers the ball, the degree of movement of the line guard adapter is defined. By closely fitting the socket to the ball, the insulator cover can be secured to the insulator by disaligning the slotted portions of the ball and socket.

  • Patent number: 4428100
Abstract: An anchoring device for a conductor including an elongated main body which has a recess that has a gripping jaw slideably supported therein. A cover having a corresponding recess and a corresponding jaw in the recess. The cover is pivotally supported on the main body so it can be opened for receipt of a conductor and is closed and the jaws released to produce a gripping force on the conductor. The clamping device also has biasing means for biasing the corresponding jaw towards one end of the clamp to produce an initial gripping force on the conductor.
