  • Patent number: 5394946
Abstract: A row cleaning attachment for seeding equipment comprising a coulter mounted between and behind two press wheels having a uniform circumference. The press wheels are independently spring biased downwardly into contact with the ground for holding and pulling the crop residue away from the planting line of the planting unit. The coulter has a larger diameter than the press wheels and is located so that the cutting edge of the coulter cuts the residue material as it is being tensioned between the press wheels.
