  • Publication number: 20200261902
Abstract: Systems and methods for nesting refill filtered pipette tips to reduce storage space and plastic waste are provided herein. Embodiments include a lower filtered refill wafer comprising a lower plurality of refill filtered pipette tips in a nested filtered pipette tip rack, the lower filtered refill wafer comprising the lower plurality of refill filtered pipette tips having holes between top portions of the lower plurality of refill filtered pipette tips. Various embodiments further include an upper filtered refill wafer comprising an upper plurality of refill filtered pipette tips nested into the holes between the top portions of the lower plurality of refill filtered pipette tips, the nesting of the upper filtered refill wafer thereby reducing storage space for the nested filtered pipette tip rack compared with storage space for a filtered pipette tip rack that is not nested.

  • Patent number: 7658887
Abstract: Pipette tip grids with holes for holding pipette tips and packages for the grids are provided. A pipette tip grid package comprises a grid, a base for supporting the grid, and a lock mechanism coupled to the grid and configured to externally engage with a sidewall of the base. The sidewall of the base also supports the grid. The package also can have a detachable cover for the grid, and, the lock mechanism can be external to the cover as well as the base. In some embodiments, the grids are stackable and the cover engages the topmost grid of the stack. Together, the cover, the base, and the sidewalls of the one or more stacked pipette tip grids form a protective case around pipette tips in the one or more grids.

  • Patent number: 5683659
Abstract: Presented is an integral assembly (2) of hollow tubes and seal caps (4) therefor arranged in an elongated aligned and integral assembly in which multiple tubes (1) each symmetrical about a longitudinal axis (3) and having a closed (32) end and an open end (6) are formed in side-by-side spaced relationship in a linear series in which adjacent tubes are integrally interconnected by a tether (36) to form an elongated strip (2). One end of the strip (2) of open-ended tubes is integrally connected to an elongated seal cap strip (43) that forms an integral extension of the tube strip and which includes a linear series of integral, spaced seal caps (42) each symmetrical about an axis (44) parallel to the axes of the tubes and corresponding in spacing and in number to the tubes. The tube (1) on one end of the tube strip (2) is integrally connected to its corresponding seal cap (42) on the seal cap strip (43).

  • Patent number: 5354539
Abstract: Presented is a microtube and closure cap assembly in which the closure cap is flexibly tethered to the microtube so that the closure cap may be swung from a microtube-open position to a microtube-closed and sealed position, and the closure cap then rotated through a predetermined arc to lock the closure cap to the microtube in sealed condition. Opening of the microtube from its sealed and locked condition is effected by reversing the procedure, i.e., rotating the closure cap to unlock it from the microtube and then lifting the closure cap from the microtube to break the seal. A lock lug on the microtube and a lock housing on the closure cap that are initially laterally offset when the microtube is sealed by the closure cap are brought into locking interengagement by relative rotation of the closure cap and microtube following sealing of the microtube.
