  • Patent number: 9028229
Abstract: Deliquefication systems with an upper pumping section for discharging fluid pumped to it by a lower pumping section; in one aspect, for providing liquid from a wellbore to the upper section for removal of the liquid from the wellbore; and, in one aspect, such systems for dewatering a gas well. This abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract which will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure and is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims, 37 C.F.R. 1.72(b).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 3, 2011
Date of Patent: May 12, 2015
Inventors: David Joseph Bolt, Kenneth Ray Newman

  • Publication number: 20080077332
Abstract: A method for determining fatigue life reduction in a string; the method, in at least certain aspects, including providing at least one sample from a string that has been subjected to corrosion, fatigue testing the at least one sample to determine a measured remaining fatigue life, calculating an expected remaining bending fatigue life for the at least one sample, and comparing the measured remaining fatigue life to the expected remaining bending fatigue life to determine the extent of reduction in fatigue life of the string.

  • Patent number: 6443242
Abstract: A method for taking into account the effects of complex conveyance method model technique results in real time in a wellbore operation, the method including, in certain aspects, calculating with a conveyance method model technique a series of data points based on wellbore data (actual and/or predicted), modeling the relationship between the series of data points and the wellbore data using a simple mathematical model technique to develop a model for predicting a wellbore operations parameter, and using the model to predict a wellbore operations parameter; and, in one aspect, a procedure for drilling a wellbore in the earth using such a method to predict, among other things, weight on bit, torque on bit and stretch of a conveyance system (coiled tubing, wireline, drill pipe string) used to move the bit in a wellbore.
