  • Patent number: 6267418
Abstract: A threadless coupling for pressurized systems includes a nut member and a mating member. The nut member has a first axial end for attachment to the pressure sensitive control, a second axial end configured for engagement with the mating member, and a housing extending between the first axial end and the second axial end. The housing is configured for locking engagement with a pair of retaining tabs extending from an outer surface of the mating member. Each mating member retaining tab engages a corresponding seating surface and step surface of the respective housing opening so that relative axial and rotational movement of the nut member and mating member is prevented.

  • Patent number: 6122154
Abstract: Embodiments of a combination motor starting device and protector module including a motor start winding cut-out switch for an electric motor are described. In the one embodiment, the motor protector includes a heater element and a bimetallic protector switch, electrically connected in series and configured to be coupled between a power source and the motor windings. The bimetallic protector switch includes a stationary contact, a movable contact, and a bimetal element, responsive to current flow through the protector, controls movements of the movable contact. The heater element is positioned in heat transfer relationship with the protector bimetal element. The motor starting device, in one form, is a positive temperature coefficient resistor (PTCR) element configured to be connected in circuit with the motor start winding. A bimetallic cut-out switch is connected in series with the PTCR.

  • Patent number: 5729416
Abstract: A combination motor starter and protector module is described. The base member, in one embodiment, forms a motor protector compartment and a motor starter compartment. The motor protector, in one form, is a bimetallic switch configured to be coupled between a power source and the motor windings. The switch includes a stationary contact and a movable contact. A bimetal element, responsive to current flow through the protector, controls movement of the movable contact. The starter, in one form, is a positive temperature coefficient resistor (PTCR) disk configured to be connected in series circuit with the motor start winding. The cover of the combination housing includes, in one form, an integral capacitor support arm and terminal openings for receiving blade terminals of a run capacitor. The terminal openings in the cover align with blade receiving receptacles coupled to the PTCR start circuit.

  • Patent number: 5711552
Abstract: A threadless coupling for pressurized systems includes, in one form, a nut member and a mating member. The nut member, in one embodiment, has a first axial end for attachment to the pressure sensitive control, a second axial end configured for engagement with the mating member, and a housing extending between the first axial end and the second axial end. The housing includes a pair of openings spaced 180.degree. apart and configured for locking engagement with a pair of retaining tabs extending from an outer surface of the mating member. Each housing opening includes a step surface and a seating surface. During assembly, the mating member retaining tabs are positioned 90.degree. out of alignment with the housing openings. A portion of the mating member including the retaining tabs is then inserted into the nut member. When the retaining tabs are axially aligned with the housing openings, the nut member is turned 90.degree. so that the housing openings are aligned with the retaining tabs.
