  • Patent number: 8408314
Abstract: An intelligent completion system includes production tubing configured for production from multiple zones in a wellbore. At least one flow control valve is disposed on the production tubing for each of the multiple zones, this flow control valve capable to regulate the flow of a wellbore fluid into the production tubing. A chemical injection mandrel is disposed on the production tubing adjacent the at least one flow control valve in the each of the multiple zones, this mandrel being connected to at least one chemical injection line for injecting one or more chemicals into the wellbore. A control mechanism is connected to the at least one flow control valve and the chemical injection mandrel such that the injection mandrel and the at least one flow control valve are operated in a coordinated manner.

  • Publication number: 20070295514
Abstract: An indexing device for flow control includes a first cylinder having a plurality of slots disposed thereon along a path that changes rotational direction at least once before the path completes a circle around the first cylinder; and a second cylindrical member forming a concentric assembly with the first cylinder, such that an index pin disposed on the second cylindrical member is configured to move in the plurality of slots on the first cylinder when the first cylinder and the second cylindrical member move relative to each other.

  • Publication number: 20070290133
Abstract: A method of detecting explosives in a vehicle includes providing a first rack on one side of the vehicle, the rack including a neutron generator and a plurality of gamma ray detectors; providing a second rack on another side of the vehicle, the second rack including a neutron generator and a plurality of gamma ray detectors; providing a control system, remote from the first and second racks, coupled to the neutron generators and gamma ray detectors; using the control system, causing the neutron generators to generate neutrons; and performing gamma ray spectroscopy on spectra read by the gamma ray detectors to look for a signature indicative of presence of an explosive. Various apparatus and other methods are also provided.

  • Patent number: 5329645
Abstract: A device for providing support for a user seated on a commode and comprising a substantially U-shaped framework attached to a wall behind the commode includes a pair of elongated horizontal members joined by a crossbar and having legs at its forward corners. The framework is rotated through substantially 90.degree. to rest with its legs on the floor in front of the commode. A padded tray is slidably mounted on and rotatable with the horizontal members of the framework and is moved closely adjacent to the user when the user is seated on the commode. When not in use, the device is rotated upward, folded against the wall, and secured to the wall by a clip. The device is preferably made of polyvinyl chloride pipe and the tray is covered with a sheet of plastic material.

  • Patent number: 4641694
Abstract: A machine for felling standing trees, cutting logs into segments of the desired length and splitting logs lengthwise. A shear blade is mounted for reciprocal movement within a framework by means of a hydraulic cylinder or cylinders so as to urge the log against an anvil at the rear of the frame upon the forward cutting stroke. The frame is pivotably affixed to the drawbar lift assembly of a tractor so as to be rotatable between a horizontal attitude for felling standing timber and a vertical or upright attitude for cutting and splitting logs. The anvil is pivotably connected to the frame, and includes an operating mechanism whereby it can be swung open to admit a standing tree and then closed and latched to sever the tree. The cutting edge of the shear blade is in the form of a V-shaped notch so that the log is stabilized while being severed in opposed directions upon the forward, cutting stroke.
