  • Publication number: 20220391434
Abstract: A method is provided that includes receiving, from a first application, a first image file and a first set of metadata associated with the first image file, and updating an on-device index based on the first image file and the first set of metadata. The method may further include processing the first image file and the first set of metadata to generate a second set of metadata and updating the on-device index based on the second set of metadata. Upon receiving an image search query the process may identify a plurality of candidate image files from the on-device index based on the image search query, and providing the plurality of candidate image files for display in response to the image search query.

  • Patent number: 10037512
Abstract: Methods and systems that provide for enhanced and simplified calendar event creation in a calendar application are disclosed. First, the method begins with a user inputting into a device a description of a new calendar event. Second, the method uses the description to extract a title field that is then used to scan for a list of similar calendar events from a database of historical calendar events. Third, the method presents the list of similar calendar events to the user. Fourth, the user selects one of the similar calendar events to help pre-fill some or all of the fields of the new calendar event.

  • Patent number: 5156641
Abstract: An external anchoring system for securing medical tubing to a body includes a resilient receptor disposed upon the exterior of a tube to be anchored; means for attachment of the anchoring system to the body; means for linking connected to the means for attachment to the body; and a knoblet projecting from the means for linking. The resilient receptor provides a reversible interference fit for the knoblet. Preferably, the resilient receptor is one of a plurality of resilient receptors disposed longitudinally on the tubing. Also, a method for anchoring a non-inserted portion of a naso-gastric catheter to the nose of a patient is disclosed and includes the steps of providing a naso-gastric catheter having a resilient receptor; providing a link having a nose attachment on one end and a knoblet on the opposite end; attaching the link to the nose; and inserting the knoblet into the resilient receptor.

  • Patent number: 4774945
Abstract: Into patients intubated with an endotracheal tube for patient ventilation, a sound tube is inserted into the hypopharynx. A valve between the endotracheal tube and the ventilator can be manually actuated so that the patient's exhaled breath passes through a buzzer in the sound tube. The sound emanates from a location just above the natural vocal chords and can be articulated into intelligible speech by lips and tongue.

  • Patent number: 4593689
Abstract: An endotracheal tube for allowing nasally intubated patients to speak comprising an elongated tube adapted for nasal intubation. The tube has an opening adjacent the patient's throat when intubated, and reed means in the opening. Interconnected first and second valves are at the proximal tube end and the opening, respectively, and are manually operable to open the tube proximal end and close the opening, and vice versa. The patient can breathe through the tube when the tube proximal end is open and the opening is closed. When the tube proximal end is closed and the opening is open, expiring air from the patient's lungs passes the reed means causing it to vibrate and produce an audible tone which can be altered by the patient's mouth and tongue to produce audible speech.
