Publication number: 20080007752Abstract: A system and method for trapping in electrophotographic color printing and related technologies for printing or display in which the final image is an overlay of multiple components subject to alignment errors. Trapping is based on the cyan (C), magenta (M), and black (K) planes. There are four steps as follows: detect object edges on each of the four color planes; detect coincident and opposing edge transitions on each pair of planes (CM, CK, and KM); determine which plane to trap, i.e., to extend object across edge; and generate trap on that plane using a simple trap generation rule and a single trap generation rule.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 24, 2007Publication date: January 10, 2008Inventors: Lakhbir Gandhi, Robert Westervelt, Kenneth Schmidt, Dongpei Su, Alfred Abkarian, Mark Raley

Publication number: 20070259579Abstract: The present invention relates to a surfboard fin system which includes a generally horizontal hydrofoil intersecting or connecting with one or more vertical fins. The generally horizontal hydrofoil of the invention is designed using principles of hydrodynamics, that is, the forces generated by the flow of water over a hydrofoil or wing, to create a force that pulls downward on the fin system and, in turn, downward on the tail end of the water planing hull or surfboard.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 5, 2006Publication date: November 8, 2007Inventor: Kenneth Schmidt

Publication number: 20070120383Abstract: The embodiments provide bumper systems, as well as methods of making bumper systems. The bumper systems include an inner panel and an outer panel, each with a first end and a second end. The outer panel can then comprise a substantially uniform cross-section between the first end and the second end, and the inner panel can also comprise a substantially uniform cross-section between the first end and the second end.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 26, 2006Publication date: May 31, 2007Applicant: Meridian Automotive Systems, Inc.Inventors: Kenneth Schmidt, Christopher Pelto, Bradley Hamlin, Rajesh Tagore
-
Publication number: 20060179748Abstract: A vented insulator for use in nail based construction. A sheet insulator includes a base having integrally formed thereon a plurality of upwardly extending nodes of uniform size. The nodes are uniformly distributed across the length and width of the base forming a plurality of air ventilation channels. The insulation is attached to and positioned between an internally located structural deck, such as a ceiling, and an outwardly located construction, such as a roof.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 13, 2006Publication date: August 17, 2006Inventor: Kenneth Schmidt
-
Publication number: 20060107846Abstract: The present invention relates to apparatus for making rolled food products. More particularly, the apparatus includes a dispensing mechanism for dispensing edible filling materials onto a generally planar shell and a rolling mechanism for making the shell dispensed with the filling materials into a roll.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 28, 2005Publication date: May 25, 2006Inventors: Gilbert Foulon, John Walz, Kenneth Schmidt, Thomas Berger

Publication number: 20050257133Abstract: A worldwide number format for use with a spreadsheet program module is disclosed. The worldwide number format includes a locale specifier comprising a number shape, a calendar type and a locale identification (LCID). The worldwide number format also includes a base number format and a value. The LCID is used to categorize different parts of the world. Primarily, the LCID categorizes different parts of the world by language such as English, German, French, Thai, Arabic, etc. The LCID is used to determine what language to display month names, month abbreviations, weekday names, weekday abbreviations, time designations such as AM/PM, etc. The calendar type supports both Gregorian and non-Gregorian calendars. Calendar type is a value to indicate which calendar should be used to calculate the date from the value. The number shape is a value that indicates what shape in which to represent the number.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 22, 2005Publication date: November 17, 2005Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Marise Chan, Barry McCord, Kenneth Schmidt, James Sukhabut, Christopher Yu

Publication number: 20050114516Abstract: A system and method for accepting a recipient identifier, wherein the recipient identifier can be used to identify an electronic mail (email) recipient; generating a petition based on the recipient identifier and at least one petition rule, wherein the at least one petition rule includes at least one of: 1) a sender identification method; and 2) a recipient; and wherein the petition can be used by a email provider to allow a recipient to receive email from a sender.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 21, 2003Publication date: May 26, 2005Inventors: Steven Smith, Kenneth Schmidt
-
Publication number: 20050091323Abstract: A system and method for governing the delivery rate of electronic mail (email) messages, said method comprising providing for the delivery of email messages, controlling the rate of the delivery based on delivery efficiency and a target delivery rate, and wherein the delivery efficiency is based on the performance of a plurality of mail transfer agents (MTAs) that are capable of delivering email simultaneously.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 28, 2003Publication date: April 28, 2005Applicant: Mindshare Design, Inc.Inventors: Steven Smith, Kenneth Schmidt

Publication number: 20050056619Abstract: A weld gun having a linkage, which relates pivotal motion of a pair of laterally opposed facing electrodes of the weld gun in a predetermined manner. Based upon the predetermined motion of the electrodes a welding robot positions the electrodes of the weld gun on opposite sides of a workpiece to be welded so that the electrodes simultaneously engage the workpiece on opposite sides.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 15, 2003Publication date: March 17, 2005Inventors: Kenneth Schmidt, Peter Sun, Pei-Chung Wang

Publication number: 20050056618Abstract: Method of welding a metal sheet and metal tubing as well as a welded sheet-to-tube welded structure wherein the tube-to-sheet gage ratio may be reduced to permit use of metal tubing having a reduced wall thickness. One or more intermediate metal bridging members is/are first welded to a metal tube using a relatively rapid welding process that reduces heat input and residual tensile stress imparted to the tube. A metallic sheet then is spot welded directly to the one or more bridging members, rather than to the metallic tube, to form a welded sheet-to-tube structure.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 15, 2003Publication date: March 17, 2005Inventors: Kenneth Schmidt, Pei-Chung Wang

Publication number: 20050045597Abstract: This invention provides a method of producing a series of substantially uniform spot welds between two metal parts using a servomotor driven movable electrode and an axially opposing fixed electrode. Target values for electrode displacement in producing a weld indentation and electrode squeeze force are determined for the electrodes and workpieces. During welding operations electrode displacement and electrode force measurements are continually taken and compared with the displacement and force target values. While the measured values are within a tolerance range of the target values, welding is continued using the preset parameters. When either or both of the measured electrode displacement or force value falls outside the target range the total welding current is adjusted in small increments to correct the displacement and/or force values and, thereafter, welding is continued using the new total welding current.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 25, 2003Publication date: March 3, 2005Inventors: Pei-Chung Wang, Robert Thornton, Kenneth Schmidt, Samuel Marin
