The drawers can be reconfigured using one or more dividers to divide the drawers into two or more compartments. The cabinet has cameras mounted to it and uses images to determine if a compartment contains an item and other information. In some embodiments, features are implemented to closely monitor the self-serve access and removal of items from the cabinet. Features can include the incorporation of serialization of items and automated tracking of items in a bulk item stocked in the cabinet. Features can also include multimode access such as allowing users to quickly access contents of the cabinet while for example providing graphical illustrations based on information about the stock in a supporting database.

Abstract: A flex weight sensing tray system for storing packaged medicine and regulated medical products for taking is disclosed. The system may include an integrated portable open-top tray, a platform having a weight sensing area and an optical scanner. The system may include computer readable instructions that cause a processor to store scanned information, authenticate user credentials, permit the user to enter a user selection to remove products from the tray, calculate a first weight and a second weight using the database and the one or more weight sensors, permit the user to obtain the products when it is determined that (a) the one or more serial numbers corresponds to the user selection and (b) a difference between the first weight and the second weight falls within a tolerance and update one or more product statuses in the database in order to track removal of items from the tray.

Abstract: A display holder provides product information to loaders and pickers of products stored on industrial-sized pallet racks in warehouses. The display holder is disposed on a column in a substantially vertical orientation at a height above the floor of the warehouse that is approximately at or near eye level of an operator seated within a fork-lift or like material handling vehicle. The holder displays product information for all goods stored at the various rack elevations adjacent the column of the rack to which the display holder is mounted. Thus, warehouse loaders and pickers can readily determine the particular type of goods stored on the rack adjacent the display holder, and labels can readily be re-applied, as needed.
