    Abstract: Described are concepts, systems, structures and techniques for metal filling an open channel (12) in a baseplate (19). In embodiments, metal filling of an open baseplate channel is achieved using vacuum pressure impregnation (VPI). In embodiments, a compression plate (14a) is disposed over an open baseplate channel (12) to be filled with a molten metal. In embodiments, gaskets (97) are disposed between the compression plate (14a) and a surface of the baseplate (10) proximate the baseplate channel (12). In embodiments, a channel cap (26) is disposed over the open channel. In embodiments, the channel cap (26) has a solder flow channel (29, 32) provided in a surface thereof. In the embodiments, the solder flow channel (29, 32) has a meandering shape. In embodiments, a solder flow channel (29, 32?) is provided in the compression plate (14a) and/or the baseplate (10).

    Abstract: A wind-capturing electrical generator device comprising a plurality of generators is driven by wind created by traffic passing in close proximity at high speeds. The device preferably uses horizontally or vertically mounted Savonius-type or helical-turbine-type rotors attached to electrical generators in order to capture the wind and produce electrical energy. A plurality of electrical generator devices may be mounted in a configuration such that they are in close proximity to vehicular passageways (e.g., highway overpasses, tunnels, or train rails). The wind created by the traffic is used to rotate the vanes and their attached generators in order to produce electrical energy.

    Abstract: A practical, low-energy consumption method of performing an N-point fast rier transform employing mathematically justified manipulation of input data, multirate, parallel and asynchronous circuit techniques. The multirate feature allows an input data sequence to be broken down into its polyphase components. The polyphase components can then be operated upon in a local and parallel manner. Localizing and minimizing loads of a circuit allows operations to be performed only when necessary in an asynchronous manner. The energy consumed in performing an N-point fast Fourier transform of the present invention is less than half that of known systems employing global memory and clocked methodologies. The feature of low energy consumption makes the invention attractive for use in hand-held audio/video devices where energy requirements can be met with a low rate of battery replacement.
