  • Publication number: 20150052461
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to quantification of subjective experiences. A method for quantifying a subjective experience may include outputting an adjustable graphic that is continuously adjustable between differing states. The position of a selector may be manipulated to cause the adjustable graphic to be substantially simultaneously manipulated between the differing states to produce an adjusted graphic. Thus, a user may match the adjustable graphic to his or her subjective experience regarding a particular topic. The position of the adjustable graphic may be stationary, and thus independent of the position of the selector. A scaled value corresponding to the adjusted graphic may be calculated to quantify the subjective experience.

  • Patent number: 7822895
Abstract: Described is an electronics enclosure having a midplane, a first field-replaceable CPU (central processing unit) module, and a second field-replaceable CPU module. Each CPU module is independently pluggable into and removable from the midplane. Each CPU module is configurable into either one of a first configuration and a second configuration, wherein the CPU modules operate independently as separate CPU modules when configured according to the first configuration and cooperate as a unitary CPU module when configured according to the second configuration.

  • Publication number: 20060037198
Abstract: A portable hand held device for cutting pipe or circular tubing rotates or turns by the force generated by a power drill or manually by hand. This portable hand held device for cutting pipe or circular tubing is generally circular in nature with a hinged door that opens allowing pipe or circular tubing to be inserted, and closes encasing the pipe or circular tubing inside. This device includes internal gears and an external housing with gears allowing a unit or part of the unit, including plastic or rubber rollers and a stationary cutting blade, to rotate or turn around the pipe or circular tubing. The plastic or rubber rollers support the pipe or circular tubing as the blade rotates about and cuts the pipe or tube. The rollers and cutting blade are preferably attached to an internal sidewall of the device.

  • Patent number: 6880032
Abstract: A data storage system wherein a host computer is coupled to a bank of disk drives through an interface. The interface has a plurality of directors and a memory interconnected by a bus. The directors control data transfer between the host computer and the bank of disk drives as such data passes through the memory. The interface includes a plurality of ESCON adapters, a front end portion of the directors being coupled between the host computer and the busses through the ESCON adapters. Each one of such adapters includes a plurality of adapter ports each one being coupled to a corresponding port of the host computer. Each one of the adapters also includes a plurality of adapter board gate arrays and a plurality of optic interfaces. Each one of the optic interfaces is coupled between a corresponding one of the adapter port and a corresponding one of the adapter board gate arrays.

  • Patent number: 6189394
Abstract: An in-line testing method for non-intrusively testing the force required to complete the closure of a power assisted sliding door assembly onto a door opening having resistance seals, comprising: (a) providing a door switch and a timing device within the power assist sliding door assembly to at least measure the time lapse from a door ajar position to a door locked position; and (b) if the time lapse is slower than a pattern time lapse for a model assembly of the same door known to be properly fitted, adjusting the door ajar gap in the test assembly to reduce the force required to achieve a door locked position.

  • Patent number: 4306748
Abstract: The invention provides a lifejacket in conjunction with a seat, particularly for hovercraft or hydrofoils. A combined seat pan and back support forms a tray to stow a lifejacket and a seat squab fits over the lifejacket. The squab is readily liftable and a pull tab is provided to lift the forward edge of the lifejacket out of the tray in the support.
