  • Patent number: 8365418
Abstract: A cable tie removal tool for cutting a cable tie off of an underlying structure with which the cable tie is engaged. The tool has an opposed pair of cutting members each having a cutting edge, the cutting members movable between an open position in which the cutting edges are spaced from one another and a cutting position in which the cutting edges are close together or touching. The tool also has a mechanical structure that holds at least one cutting member off of the underlying structure as the cutting members are moved from the open to the cutting position.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: February 5, 2013
Inventors: Kenneth Tomasetti, David A. Hewes
  • Patent number: 8037579
Abstract: A sleeve adapted to be placed over a cable tie, in which the cable tie has an elongated flexible strap, a locking head coupled to the strap, and structure carried by the strap that is adapted to be engaged with the head to lock the strap and head together. The sleeve has an elongated body that defines an open-ended longitudinal cavity that is sized and shaped to accept the strap, so that the sleeve can be removably engaged along the length of the strap, and a pair of spaced protrusions extending from the body so as to define a receiving recess located between the protrusions and the sleeve body.

Date of Patent: October 18, 2011
    Assignee: Advanced Cable Ties, Inc.

  • Patent number: 7356885
Abstract: A cable tie with a flexible strap having an elongated section defining a longitudinal axis, the strap having a head end, a tail end, a top side and a lower side, the lower side defining a plurality of longitudinally spaced apart teeth extending transversely to the longitudinal axis. The tie also has a head defining a channel defined by side and top walls and adapted to receive the strap, and a latch adapted to engage with one or more teeth of the strap, to retain the strap in the head. There are a series of visible markings spaced along the top side of the strap. These markings indicate the diameter of the engaged strap.
