  • Patent number: 11208228
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a system and method for wrapping bales in a harvester that uses wrapping material stored in flat, folded layers instead of conventional round tubes or rolls, and specifically to a system for positioning and cutting the wrapping material during and after the process of wrapping a bale, the system comprising: a first feed roll, configured for dispensing a portion of wrapping material from a bundle; a feed plate system, configured to receive wrapping material and capable of applying a first amount of tension to the portion of wrapping material; and at least one cutting knife, positioned between the feed plate system and the bale chamber, such cutting knife independently movable from a first position to a second position; and a wrapping material channel positioned in operable communication with the bundle of wrapping material, the wrapping mechanism and the bale chamber.

  • Patent number: 10575469
Abstract: A system and methods for wrapping bales in a harvester uses wrapping material stored in flat, folded layers instead of conventional round tubes or rolls. The system includes a material support tray at least one feed roll, and at least a first tensioning element. The material support tray is capable of supporting at least one bundle of wrapping material. The first tensioning element is positioned adjacent to or in the material support tray and is in operable contact with at least one bundle of wrapping material.

  • Publication number: 20070107409
Abstract: A single farm machine can form or invert crop windrows by using only the raking tines of a conventional rotary rake machine. For raking, the tines simply discharge the crop to one side of the machine. The machine is changed from a raking mode into an inverting mode by adjusting the locations on the circle of revolution of the tines at which the tines engage and disengage an existing windrow. The windrow is inverted when the tines engage the windrow, lift it, and impart motion to the crop as it is being discharged that has a vector that is in the same direction as the movement of the machine. This causes the crop to move faster than the machine itself and inverts the windrow by pushing the disengaging crop over the crop that was previously discharged.

  • Publication number: 20070084177
Abstract: The apparatus is a farm machine that inverts crop windrows using only the raking tines of a conventional rotary rake machine. The tines engage and move an existing windrow, and invert the windrow as the crop is being disengaged from the tines. The inverting machine accomplishes the inverting by imparting motion to the discharging crop that has a vector of motion that is in the same direction as the movement of the inverter machine. This causes the crop to move faster than the machine itself and inverts the windrow by pushing the disengaging crop over the crop that was previously discharged.
