  • Patent number: 5772318
Abstract: A portable hand-held concrete, mortar and gypsum mixer comprises a small gasoline powered implement having a drive shaft extending generally downward from the handles to a gear box. A transverse shaft driven by the drive shaft extends to either side of the gear box. Mounted on the transverse shaft are a plurality of blades shaped to thoroughly agitate and mix a combination of water and the ingredients for concrete, mortar, gypsum or similar heavy, hard to mix materials. Surrounding the blades are thin rings attached to the blades to form a round circumferential surface about the blades and thereby prevent the blades from directly contacting the mixing trough or other means of containing the mix. In the alternative, the plurality of blades may be shaped at their peripheries to form substantially continuous circular circumferences.

  • Patent number: 4546906
Abstract: A dispensing valve and nozzle combination for dispensing cartridges filled with viscous material such as caulking, sealant or glue. The valve and nozzle comprise a substantially cylindrical cap terminating in a conical nozzle and a hollow substantially cylindrical valve body terminating in a plurality of integral segments nested together within the conical nozzle of the cap. The segments superficially resemble the segments within a common drill chuck and open and close to provide a sealable passage for the dispensed material. The opening of the segments as the valve is opened permits relatively unimpeded straight through flow of very viscous material, nevertheless permitting the valve to be sealingly closed with little or no dispensable material clinging to the valve nozzle or exposed to the air.The valve cap and nozzle is trimmable on the bias to permit a bead to be put down in the normal manner.

  • Patent number: 4482116
Abstract: The invention comprises an adjustable support to retain the mouths of commonly available plastic film garbage and leaf bags fully open. The bag mouth support folds and unfolds into a compact shape for packaging and for storage. Fully open the support is of substantially square or rectangular shape with one of the sides telescopingly adjustable to increase or decrease the perimeter length of the support.

  • Patent number: 4461454
Abstract: A two piece valve accessory for common caulking tubes or cartridges insertable in caulking guns is disclosed. The valve permits resealing of the cartridge nozzle, snout or applicator tip without hardening or significant wastage of the material therein and permits increased control of the flow rate of material from the cartridge. The valve is adjustable from fully open to closed position and includes a separate sealed or dome extended position wherein the residue from the applicator tip of the valve is expelled. The valve barrel includes an integral piercing edge to break the cartridge seal as the valve is inserted into the applicator tip of the cartridge. The barrel is sized and ribbed for an interference non-rotatable fit within the applicator tip. The valve cap is fully rotatable on the barrel and includes a beveled tip to direct material in any radial direction relative to the caulking gun handle.

  • Patent number: 4273275
Abstract: The invention comprises an improved ring and swivel combination for attaching a toy such as a Yo-Yo or spinning top to the operator's finger. The ring includes a flexible strap for adjustable attachment to the finger. Preferably the strap comprises a portion of woven hooks and a complementary portion of woven loops such as that sold under the VELCRO trademark. The swivel comprises a cup attached to the strap and having a carefully formed hole in the cup bottom. The string attached to the toy passes through the hole and is knotted inside the cup. The knotted string and cup forms an effective swivel to prevent wind-up of the Yo-Yo or spinning top string. The toy accessory may be used to control model race cars and model airplanes by using a pair of toy accessories attached to two fingers to replace the conventional dual control handle. The swivels allow the operator to guide the model in a circular patch without turning around to prevent wind-up of the pair of guide lines.

  • Patent number: 4046393
Abstract: A portable plastic sled for the rescue of injured persons and disabled snowmobiles. The sled is constructed of heavy gauge low density polyethylene having a molecular memory and formed to lay substantially flat when unrolled with the exception of the front portion which retains a partial curvature. A transverse bar at the front of the sled includes a socket for attachment of a separate crank to enable the sled to be conveniently rolled into a tight bundle for stowage aboard a snowmobile or all terrain vehicle. The crank is formed with attachments to permit use as a handle for manual towing or as a towbar for snowmobile towing. The crank also becomes a convenient carrying handle when the sled is rolled up. An integral tail on the sled retains the sled in the rolled up condition and multipurpose clasp lines retain the crankhandle to the rolled up sled.
