  • Patent number: 9369589
Abstract: Embodiments enable data usage plans and data usage statistics to be shared among user computing devices. In some embodiments, a web service receives a schema populated with data describing the data usage plan from a mobile operator. The web service distributes the populated schema to the user computing devices, and subsequently distributes updated portions of the schema as the data usage plan is updated by the mobile operator. The web service may also collect the data usage statistics from the user computing devices and the mobile operator, reconcile any differences, and send synchronization notifications to the user computing devices based on the reconciliation. In some embodiments, users are able to view bandwidth consumption by a plurality of user computing devices sharing the same data usage plan.

  • Patent number: 9264556
Abstract: Embodiments attribute network data transfers to applications executing on a computing device. A data transfer service executes on the computing device to receive and process data transfer requests. The data transfer requests, populated by the applications, have identifiers attributed thereto to enable monitoring of the network data transfers per identifier. For example, network data transfers associated with different mail accounts of a mail program or different web sites of browser are attributed separately. Data usage statistics relating to the network data transfers for each identifier may be generated and presented to the user for review.

  • Publication number: 20150181047
Abstract: Embodiments provide a schema for representing data usage plans and data usage statistics. The data usage plan describes threshold values associated with network connections of computing devices of the user. A web service dynamically generates data usage statistics for the computing devices to represent data consumed by the computing devices under the data usage plan. The schema is updated with the data usage statistics and distributed to the computing devices for presentation to the user.

  • Patent number: 9049589
Abstract: Embodiments automatically adjust one or more terms of a data usage plan of a user to reduce network transfer costs for the user. Data usage statistics representing network data consumption by at least one computing device of the user are received or collected. The data usage plan is compared with the data usage statistics (e.g., to estimate any excess network transfer costs), and the data usage plan is adjusted accordingly and based on other data usage plans or adjustments that are available.

  • Publication number: 20140129108
Abstract: A technique is described for the redundant registering of an actuation of a motor-vehicle brake system. A device which is provided for this purpose comprises a first sensor for generating a first sensor signal which indicates a movement of a mechanical input component of the brake system, and a second sensor for generating a second sensor signal which indicates a hydraulic pressure in the brake system. A processing device which is coupled to the two sensors is configured for selectively outputting an actuation signal which is generated on the basis of the first sensor signal or an actuation signal which is generated on the basis of the second sensor signal. The actuation signal indicates an actuation of the brake system.

  • Publication number: 20070261841
Abstract: A hydraulic oil well pumping arrangement employs a compensating type hydraulic pump, a directional valving arrangement and a proportioning valving arrangement. When the directional valve is energized, oil is directed to the rod end of the hydraulic cylinder. The rod or piston part of the hydraulic cylinder will then elevate until a first limit switch is actuated which then will de-energize the directional valve and send a current signal to the proportional valve. This current signal to the proportional valve forces it to open to a point at which the cylinder rod would extend at the desired velocity until it reaches a second limit switch. The second limit switch is near the bottom (for example, 1 foot, or 0.30 meters) of travel of the rod or piston. The current signal to the proportional valve is then decreased, creating a choking arrangement that forces the cylinder rod to decelerate. The cylinder rod then reaches another limit switch.

  • Patent number: 6880253
Abstract: A shaving razor having a handle that defines a longitudinal axis, a shaving head that defines a transverse axis, a connector assembly, and a biasing element. The connector assembly couples the handle and the head so that the head can pivot upward and downward about its transverse axis and can also move toward and away from the handle with the transverse axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis or oblique thereto. Preferably, the biasing element is separate and spaced apart from the connector assembly and biases the head into a rest position.

  • Patent number: 6067040
Abstract: A low-cost, high-resolution radar based detection system has a pulse repetition frequency generator connected to first and second narrow pulse modulators. A transmit channel is connected to the first narrow pulse modulator and emits pulse modulated carrier based transmit signals having a prescribed carrier frequency and a prescribed duration. A receive channel is connected to the second narrow pulse modulator. A time delay circuit delays the output of the second pulse modulator to the receive channel and a mixer mixes a portion of one of the pulse modulated carrier based transmit signals reflected from an object with the output of the second narrow pulse modulator.
