Abstract: A hand-held striking tool has a striking head having an eye passage of generally rectangular cross section a portion adjacent one end thereof enlarged along one transverse axis. Seated in the eye passage is an elongated handle with a metallic core rod of generally I-shaped cross section with a longitudinally extending notch in the web portion at one end providing a bifurcated end portion which has its legs inclined outwardly to a transverse dimension greater than that of the other end of the eye passage. A sleeve of synthetic resin is provided about the core rod adjacent the head and extends over a portion of the length of the eye passage. Synthetic resin fills the eye passage about the core rod.

Abstract: A panel lifter pry bar comprises an integrally formed elongated bar with an elongated substantially rectilinear shank portion having a U-shaped portion at one end disposed to one side of the longitudinal axis of the shank portion, and an inverted U-shaped portion at the other end disposed to the other side of the longitudinal axis. At the end of the U-shaped portion spaced from the shank portion is a claw, and at the end of the inverted U-shaped portion, is an elongated panel lifter portion which extends at an obtuse angle to the shank portion. The U-shaped and inverted U-shaped portions provide fulcrums on opposite sides of the longitudinal axis of the shank portion for the claw and panel lifter portions respectively.

Abstract: A soft-grip handle for hammers and the like has an elongated core member and a synthetic resin sleeve extending along the core member adjacent its tool mounting end. The sleeve has a peripheral collar extending about its end spaced from the tool mounting end, and a grip member of relatively resilient material extends about the core member from its grip end and has an end portion overlying and interlocked with the collar on the sleeve. The core member desirably has a channel therein extending from the grip end and the grip member has a portion disposed within the channel to interlock the core and grip members.

Abstract: A hand tool such as a hammer is provided with an internally reinforced jacketed handle. The tool head, having an eye extending therethrough, is attached to the handle by interconnected grooves on the handle and a thermosetting material filling the grooves, an upper recess, and tapered pockets formed between the walls of the eye and the handle.
