Publication number: 20190084756Abstract: A food storage container is provided that may be used to increase shelf life of produce stored therein. The food storage container is preferably used to contain produce that is often not refrigerated, and thus subject to increased humidity levels when stored inside a sealed container. The container preferably includes each of a container portion and a lid member and a container portion, wherein the lid member may be attached and removed to the container portion. The lid member may include upper and lower lid members that are also selectively engageable with one another. A water vapor permeable membrane layer is preferably secured between the upper and lower lid members to help control humidity levels within the container portion. In some embodiments, a gas permeable membrane layer may be present between the upper and lower lid members for controlling gas flow into and out of the container portion as well.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 19, 2018Publication date: March 21, 2019Inventors: Kathryn Maxwell, Kenneth W. Publication number: 20110278206Abstract: A personal, portable drinking container has a bottle with a neck, a reservoir, and a top opening in the neck providing access to the reservoir. A cap is removably fitted on the neck to close the opening. A filter assembly is provided in the bottle and carries a filter media with a finite useful life. An indicator can be provided on part of the drinking container and set by a user to indicate a parameter relevant to the useful life. The filter assembly can have a cage connectable to the container. The filter media can be in the cage and the indicator can be on the cage or the bottle. The filter media can be cylindrical with an open center and have a pleated layer of non-woven, cellulose material and a film layer of non-woven fabric material. The filter assembly can be capable of a liquid flow rate of at least about 15 ml/sec passing through the filter media.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2010Publication date: November 17, 2011Applicant: Rubbermaid Inc.Inventors: Kenneth W. Publication number: 20100237068Abstract: A container has a base bottom and a base side wall extending up from and circumferentially around a perimeter of the base bottom. The base side wall terminates at an upper end with a top opening at the upper end into an interior of the container. The base side wall is formed in part by a molded plastic skeleton and in part by at least a wall section of a pre-formed panel structure in-molded with and carried by the skeleton. The wall section is joined to the skeleton along perimeter edges of the panel structure. Portions of both an inner surface and an outer surface of the wall section are exposed and not covered by the skeleton.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 17, 2009Publication date: September 23, 2010Applicant: Rubbermaid IncorporatedInventors: Kenneth W. Hull, Larry T. McKinney, Michael J. Orroth

Publication number: 20080210659Abstract: A beverage container has a body with a hollow interior. A spout is positioned at one end of the body and is configured to selectively dispense liquid from the interior of the body. The body also has a closed end opposite the one end. A seam is formed on the body between a first body section and a second body section and the two body sections are separable from one another along the seam. A liquid-tight seal is formed along the seam. Each body section is configured to define a part of the hollow interior of the body and to directly contact a liquid held in the hollow interior. A mechanism on the container can be manipulated to secure the body sections together sufficient to maintain the liquid-tight seal along the seam and to permit separation of the two body sections exposing their respective interior surfaces.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 21, 2006Publication date: September 4, 2008Applicant: Rubbermaid IncorporatedInventors: Larry T. McKinney, Jacob Connelly, Kenneth W. Hull, Ian W. Cunningham

Patent number: 6079339Abstract: A shelving system is provided for use in the storage of various articles. Specifically, the shelving system includes a panel having a plurality of rail members formed with the panel. The rail members have an curvilinear lower portion. Preferably, the curvilinear lower portion distributes greater material proximate regions in the panel which experience greater stress. Similarly, the rail members also have an upper portion having a depth extending away from said panel. Preferably, the amount of depth of the upper portion of each rail member is designed to distribute greater material proximate regions in the panel which experience greater strain once loaded. Lastly, the molded shelving of this invention includes a plurality of socket members including support members designed to transmit stress away from the sockets, thereby reducing stress concentrations adjacent the socket members.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 1998Date of Patent: June 27, 2000Assignee: Rubbermaid IncorporatedInventors: David A.
