  • Patent number: 10124358
Abstract: A system for allocating irrigation resources includes a hub for collecting imaging data and soil condition readings from watering areas proximal to sprinkler nodes. A combiner operated to form combined cluster data from each sprinkler node in a sprinkler cluster. An interpreter operated to generate mapped cluster data from combined cluster data and a geolocation map. A correlator to generate a current cluster snapshot from the mapped cluster data and spatiotemporal weather information. A comparator configured to compare the current cluster snapshot with recorded sprinkler cluster activity data to determine deficient regions within the watering areas in sprinkler cluster, and generate an activation control for the sprinkler cluster. A selector to select a spatiotemporal watering control from the activation control for a specific sprinkler node. The specific sprinkler node to deliver a directed fluid stream to the deficient region within the watering area.

  • Publication number: 20060185218
Abstract: A two-piece bonded fishing rod blank or fishing rod is formed from two filament-wound tubes, or from one filament-wound tube and another tube fabricated by a different process. In the latter case, the tube may be fabricated from sheet-wrap material. In that case, blanks are constructed from two tapered composite tubes and the components are joined together, preferably bonded by applying a thin layer of epoxy to the larger end of the tip section and inserting the tip section, tip first, into the larger end of the butt section. The outer taper of the larger end of the tip section can then be pulled tight against the inside taper of the smaller end of the butt section and allowed to cure. This results in a singular unitized fishing rod blank that exhibits improved hoop strength, increased flexural design parameters, increased sensitivity, and cosmetically appealing surface striations, which are unique and aesthetically pleasing.

  • Patent number: 4768791
Abstract: A workpiece-holding plug has six sector-shaped segments that expand outwardly in a radial direction when in use and in contact with a lathe center. The segments have tapered outer wall portions which assume a precise cylindrical shape when the plug is expanded so that the central axis of the lathe center is maintained in precise concentric relationship to the central axis of the workpiece. The plug is of a particular construction which ensures that each of the segments shifts radially outwardly an equal distance, and yet has sufficient resiliency for self-contraction when the work operation is completed so that the plug may be readily removed from the workpiece. The plug has particular utility for holding a press roller on a lathe during reconditioning of the outer rubber surface of the roller.
