  • Publication number: 20240148201
Abstract: A toilet seat covering device for reducing viral transmission includes a sheet, which is shaped substantially complementarily to an upper face of a toilet seat. The sheet comprises resiliently flexible, substantially inelastic, elastomer. The sheet is positionable on the upper face of the toilet seat so the sheet to substantially covers the upper face. The sheet prevents direct contact of the upper face of the toilet seat with a user who is seated upon the toilet seat. The sheet may be one of a plurality of sheets, the sheets of which are sequentially extractable for use, after which they can be disposed of.

  • Patent number: 11978680
Abstract: A microelectronic chip device includes a semiconductor substrate and multiple on-chip strain sensors (OCSSs) constructed on the substrate at various locations of the substrate. The OCSSs may each include multiple piezoresistive devices configured to sense a strain at a location of the various locations and produce a strain signal representing the strain at that location. A strain measurement circuit may also be constructed on the semiconductor substrate and configured to measure strain parameters from the strain signals produced by the OCSSs. The strain parameters represent the strains at the various location. Values of the strain parameters can be used for analysis of mechanical stress on the chip device.

  • Patent number: 11978159
Abstract: A cross reality system that provides an immersive user experience by storing persistent spatial information about the physical world that one or multiple user devices can access to determine position within the physical world and that applications can access to specify the position of virtual objects within the physical world. Persistent spatial information enables users to have a shared virtual, as well as physical, experience when interacting with the cross reality system. Further, persistent spatial information may be used in maps of the physical world, enabling one or multiple devices to access and localize into previously stored maps, reducing the need to map a physical space before using the cross reality system in it. Persistent spatial information may be stored as persistent coordinate frames, which may include a transformation relative to a reference orientation and information derived from images in a location corresponding to the persistent coordinate frame.

  • Publication number: 20240141776
Abstract: Systems and methods for using stratigraphic heat maps to steer a well being drilled. Data from one or more offset wells can be provided to a computer system and used with data from a well being drilled to generate one or more stratigraphic heat maps during the drilling of the subject well. The stratigraphic heat maps can be displayed and used to determine the location of the wellbore relative to one or more geological formations, including one or more target formations or within a target formation. Based on the use of the heat maps and the location of the wellbore relative to a target, the drill plan can be adjusted or updated and/or one or more drilling parameters or operations may be adjusted to drill the wellbore, such as to drill the wellbore to the target or to maximize the length of the wellbore within a target zone.

  • Patent number: 11972577
Abstract: Present embodiments pertain to systems, apparatuses, and methods for analyzing and reporting the movements in mechanical structures, inanimate physical structures, machinery, and machine components, including automatically detecting aliased frequencies of a component on the structure which exhibits frequencies higher than the maximum frequency of the FFT spectrum calculated from the acquired data. To automatically detect the presence of aliased frequencies, a second virtually identical recording is acquired using a slightly different sampling rate and this provides the basis for detecting frequencies which are greater than the Nyquist sampling rate of the video recording and calculating the true frequency value of the aliased peaks in the frequency spectrum.

  • Patent number: 11936567
Abstract: A method is provided for dynamic rate limiting of user requests for a service implemented in a computer system. The method includes defining a standard rate limit as an active rate limit for a first user, receiving one or more requests from the first user defining a rate exceeding the active rate limit, and determining a maximum safe system rate for a system implementing the method. The method may then redefine the active rate limit as the lower of the maximum safe system rate and a previously defined burst rate limit associated with the first user. The system may then execute the one or more requests from the first user at or below the redefined active rate limit.

  • Patent number: 11928128
Abstract: A system for maintaining a meta-database including meta-data representing decentralized data from source databases, which cause inefficient selection of modeling data and/or variables. Each of source and meta-data interfaces communicate with the respective database(s). A key variable repository module operably couples the databases and includes an AI program with a scanner algorithm and a profiler algorithm. The scanner algorithm receives the source data from the source interface, compresses the data, and synchronizes the data with the meta-data using the meta-database interface. The profiler algorithm receives the meta-data from the meta-database interface, generates granular data types for the meta-data, determines variables indicative of the meta-data, generates variable probability distributions, produces variable associations, and modifies the meta-database to include the probability distributions and associations using the meta-data interface.
