    Abstract: RAS mutation driven tumors are difficult to treat, with no targeted agents advancing to late stage clinical trials. Although immunotherapy is indicated for RAS mutant tumors, methods are needed to sensitize tumors to immunotherapy or to treat resistance to immunotherapy. Disclosed herein is a method for treating a RAS mutant cancer in a subject that involves administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a BRAF inhibitor (BRAFi) in combination with immunotherapy, such as a checkpoint inhibitor. Also disclosed herein is a composition comprising a BRAFi and a checkpoint inhibitor in a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. As disclosed herein, selective BRAF inhibition paradoxically prevents the growth of RAS mutant tumor cell lines in vitro with a consistent ERK hyperactivation and increased senescence.

    Abstract: A wafer level packaging method and assembly for packaging a wafer segment having active and inactive areas. A sacrificial layer is provided over the wafer segment. Then the sacrificial layer is modified to create a sacrificial structure having sacrificial layer openings which expose inactive areas. A cover layer is then deposited over the sacrificial structure such that the cover layer encloses the sacrificial structure and fills the sacrificial layer openings. The cover layer is modified to create a cover structure having cover layer openings that expose an inactive area of the wafer segment and through which the sacrificial structure can be removed. The sacrificial structure is removed and then enclosed with a sealing layer such that the sealing layer fills the cover layer openings in the cover structure. The cover structure and the sealing layer form the packaging assembly for the wafer segment.

    Abstract: Processes for the extraction of PHAs from biomass, said processes comprising: combining the biomass containing the PHAs with a single main solvent to form a biomass liquor; heating the biomass liquor to at least partially solubilize the PHAs from the biomass to form a PHA liquor; separating the biomass from the PHA liquor to form a PHA-enriched liquor; evaporating from 0% to about 50% of the single main solvent from the PHA-enriched liquor to form a solvent vapor and a concentrated PHA-enriched liquor; and cooling the concentrated PHA-enriched liquor to form precipitated PHAs and an impure solvent liquor. Optionally, further recovering the precipitated PHAs from the impure solvent liquor by filtration under pressure. A PHA-enriched liquor and a concentrated PHA-enriched liquor.
