    Abstract: A method is provided for reducing the density of silicone foam resulting from the generation of hydrogen gas by employing a hydride polysiloxane in the form of a mixture of linear hydride polysiloxane and cyclic hydride polysiloxane. Aqueous methanol is also found to be an effective density-reducing agent.

    Abstract: Silicone foams having a reduced density can be made by cooling the foam components of vinyl-terminated polydiorganosiloxane, methylhydrogenpolysiloxane, hydroxylated material, such as water and platinum catalysts, and mixing and maintaining the foamable mixture at a temperature of less than 5.degree. C.
