  • Patent number: 8477250
Abstract: A rollable circular display device (10) is disclosed, comprising, in one embodiment, a ring-shaped display (6) expandable in two dimensions between a stored configuration and an expanded configuration and a body for winding the ring-shaped display in the stored configuration. In another embodiment, the rollable circular display device (10) comprises a housing (20), a circular display (6) expandable in two dimensions between a stored configuration in which the circular display (6) is stored within the housing (20) and an expanded configuration in which the circular display is fully viewable, and an inner cone, being arranged co-axially within the housing (20) and rotatable within the housing, wherein the circular display (6) is wound around the inner cone in the stored configuration.

  • Patent number: 8199471
Abstract: A rollable display device including a first housing 32; a second housing 34 mateable with the first housing 32; an electronic package 36 disposed within at least one of the first housing and the second housing 34; a roll frame 40 coupled to the first housing 32; a rollable display 38 rotatably disposed within the roll frame 40, having one end connected at the second housing 34, and operably connected to the electronic package 36 to display information from the electronic package 36; and a spreader mechanism 50 having a first leg assembly 52, a second leg assembly 54, and a joining assembly 56. First leg assembly 52 couples the first housing 32 and the second housing 34, second leg assembly 54 couples the first housing 32 and the second housing 34, and joining assembly 56 couples the first leg assembly 52 and the second leg assembly 54.

  • Patent number: 8020327
Abstract: A rollable display (101) is wearable on a sleeve (103). The display (101) is part of a wrist-based device with a “U” shape. A part of the device is on top of the sleeve (103). The display (101) can be rolled out for use as needed. The device itself may be flexible or bendable i.e. have a x-rigid, U-shape or may allow the “U” shape to be folded out, for example by a hinge or sequence of connected segments that can be rotated freely, but which keep their position after being moved. The display (101) may be rolled out from under the sleeve (103) and then over the sleeve (103) along a predefined curve by means of a guiding mechanism. The device is easy to use, allows the use of large displays that may always be visible and allows freedom in the display design with respect to the direction in which the flexible display (101) is rolled out.
