  • Patent number: 10322577
Abstract: A printing apparatus and a printing method which can suppress lowering of reading accuracy of a two-dimensional code caused by shift of a printing position of an image are provided. For that purpose, in printing of the two-dimensional code by a plurality of times of scanning, in a case where a boundary between image regions crosses a square-shaped minimum information element (cell) of the two-dimensional code, a printing position of the two-dimensional code is moved so that the boundary between the image regions comes to an end portion of the cell.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 30, 2017
Date of Patent: June 18, 2019
    Assignee: CANON FINETECH NISCA INC.
    Inventors: Kenro Yamaguchi, Masaki Ota

  • Patent number: 8770688
Abstract: According to the present invention, in the case where the amount of ink remaining in an ink tank is detected using light from a light emitting unit, whether or not the amount of remaining ink is smaller than a predetermined value can be accurately determined with a decrease in the life of the light emitting unit suppressed. Thus, the present invention determines a difference between output signals each output by the light receiving unit according to a corresponding one of at least two of a plurality of levels of light emissions from the light emitting unit. Based on the difference, whether or not the amount of remaining ink is smaller than the predetermined value is determined.
