  • Patent number: 5323451
Abstract: A facsimile device includes an automatic receiving function, in which, after the facsimile device is connected to a line, users can store a match pattern suitable for the connected line. At the stage of production of this facsimile device, no match pattern for an automatic receive mode is stored in this facsimile device, or alternatively, several match patterns corresponding to ringing signals employed in several countries are stored independent of destinations of the facsimile device. This facsimile device includes a characteristic setting mode. In this characteristic setting mode, this facsimile device detects a ringing signal from the line connected thereto and determines characteristic values of the detected ringing signal. The facsimile device sets the determined characteristic values in a match pattern employed in practice for determining whether or not there is a ring to call the facsimile device in the automatic receive mode.

  • Patent number: 5307404
Abstract: A signal detecting device capable of determining whether automatically dialling transmission is to be carried out by detecting an identification signal sent from an exchange system via a telephone line. The frequency variation of the identification signal is constant since the identification signal is a composite wave of a plurality of constant frequency signals. A pulse train having substantially a constant number of pulses can be obtained by comparing the level of the identification signal provided from the telephone line with a predetermined reference voltage by voltage comparators. Frequency counters count for a constant time period the number of pulses included in the pulse train provided from voltage comparators. According to the count result output of frequency counters, a determining circuit makes determination whether an identification signal is received or not.

  • Patent number: 4884146
Abstract: An image display system includes an image reading device for reading information. This image display system is capable of displaying the information read by the image reading device. The system also allows the writing of information onto a display board. The information being displayed can be copied for outputting to a printer or a word processor for printing a hardcopy or storing onto a magnetic medium, respectively.
