  • Patent number: 6625579
Abstract: A purpose of this invention is to totalize, store, and check special sales information concerning special customers or special purchasers, etc. Sales information of registered merchandise is totalized and stored in an area corresponding to a department code of a department file table specified in a product department, by an ordinary registration mode. When special registration process is specified by depressing a department shift key, a value of the product department is changed to a value specified in a department shift table by a special registration mode and the sales information is totalized and stored in an area corresponding to the department code of the department file table specified by the thus changed value. Accordingly, the special sales information can be totalized as ordinary sales information, and can be stored separately from the ordinary sales information.

  • Patent number: 4807186
Abstract: A data input/output terminal includes a central processing unit, a random access memory (RAM), a display unit, and various data entry devices for inputting and outputting data to a host processor. The terminal includes the capability of setting program execution parameters which are necessary for the proper execution of various programs, and stores check sum codes of the parameters into an area of the RAM. Upon initial turn-on of power, the terminal determines the correct storage of the parameters in the RAM by re-calculating the check sum codes and comparing the re-calculated codes with the codes previously stored in the memory. The terminal also determines whether the RAM contains additional data storage capacity and indicates whether the RAM is capable of storing additional data or whether the RAM is full.

  • Patent number: 4638435
Abstract: An electronic cash register includes a PLU instruction key for conducting the PLU (price look-up) function, and department keys for introducing the department information. A memory system is provided for presetting a desired PLU code to each of the department keys. When a desired department key is actuated in the direct PLU mode registration operation, the preset PLU code is read out to look up the unit cost stored in the memory area corresponding to the read out PLU code.

  • Patent number: 4626990
Abstract: An electronic cash register inhibits registration of information associated with a commodity unless an operator code comprised of a plurality of digits and identifying an operator is inputted. A preset code further allows selection of the manner of indicating and printing the inputted operator code. When an operator code comprised of a plurality of digits is entered by operating a decimal keyboard or ten-key (1) and an operator code key and when a first mode is set through a mode selection key (7), all the digits of the operator code are displayed in a display (11) and printed in a printer (12). If and when a second mode is set, only a predetermined partial digit or digits of the operator code comprised of a plurality of digits are printed and none of digits are displayed. If a third mode is set, both displaying and printing of the operator code are inhibited. Thus, a user can arbitrarily select whether the operator code should be displayed and printed, by switching the mode.

  • Patent number: 4607334
Abstract: An electronic cash register includes a mode selector for selecting a registration mode or a check and adjustment mode. The memories for the storage of various sales are adjusted during the check and adjustment mode to correct errors. The pre-adjustment information is retained until a clear operation is selected by the operator. A machine-locked condition is established in response to the adjustment operation. In response to the machine-locked condition any key input other than those used during the check and adjustment mode are inhibited. The machine-locked condition is removed when the pre-adjustment information is erased during a clear operation.
