  • Patent number: 9025179
Abstract: A print job to undergo print processing is selected from a list of held print jobs. A printing medium type set in the selected print job is selected from a list of feedable printing medium types. At this time, the printing medium type set in the selected print job is displayed preferentially to other printing medium types.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 14, 2010
Date of Patent: May 5, 2015
    Assignee: Canon Kabushiki Kaisha
    Inventor: Kenshi Hata

  • Patent number: 7222933
Abstract: An inkjet recording apparatus has a structure in which, when a recording-interruption operation of a recording head such as discharge-recovery processing is performed during an image-forming operation, a recording downtime is measured, and the recording head is heated in accordance with the length of a recording downtime so as to prevent occurrence of differences in optical densities and colors of an image before and after the recording-interruption operation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 6, 2005
Date of Patent: May 29, 2007
    Assignee: Canon Kabushiki Kaisha

  • Patent number: 6789868
Abstract: The present invention provides a contamination preventing method during the conveyance of a recording medium of an image forming apparatus in which the recording medium is held while conveyed and an image is formed on the recording medium. A contact portion of the recording medium held by the holding member is held only for a predetermined time and the contact portion is changed from time to time, thereby preventing or reducing contamination of the recording medium caused by a recording medium conveying unit regardless of the type of the recording medium.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 26, 2002
Date of Patent: September 14, 2004

  • Patent number: 6655772
Abstract: A printing apparatus in which a printhead and a print medium intermittently move relatively to each other, and the printhead performs printing on the print medium during the relative movement. The temperature of the printhead is detected, the detected temperature is compared with a predetermined threshold value, and start of new relative movement accompanied by printing is controlled in correspondence with the result of comparison. The threshold value is set in correspondence with information regarding the number of pixels for which the printhead can perform printing during one relative movement. By this arrangement, reduction of output speed can be suppressed as much as possible, and inconveniences due to temperature rise of the printhead can be prevented.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 19, 2002
Date of Patent: December 2, 2003
    Assignee: Canon Kabushiki Kaisha
