  • Patent number: 7264565
Abstract: A transfer guide for a high-speed power transmission, which can cancel a change in a transmission chain speed so that smooth transmission timing can be realized and a driving power and vibration noises of the transmission chain can be significantly reduced. A curve track T for a transfer guide 100 for a high-speed power transmission disposed in a transfer position X2 just before a transmission chain, which is traveled at a fixed speed by pressing the chain on the inner circumferential side of the chain with a travel limiting guide R, is meshed with a sprocket S, is defined along an movement passage of the roller C2 in the transfer position X2. Thus, the change in the transmission chain speed is canceled so that smooth transmission timing can be reliably realized and the driving power and vibration noise of the transmission chain can be significantly reduced.

  • Publication number: 20040257730
Abstract: A power supply method is provided in which a PPS can easily supply a commensurate amount of electric power from the one or more power generating units so as to be consumed by the one or more specific loads. According to one aspect of the present invention, a secondary battery is prepared; the difference between the amount of electric power generated by one or more power generating units and the power consumption of one or more specific loads is calculated; and depending on the calculated difference, electricity is supplied from the secondary battery to the one or more loads or a power transmission line network through an inverter, or the secondary battery is charged with electricity supplied from the one or more power generating units or the power transmission line network through a converter so as to solve such difference.

  • Patent number: 6796920
Abstract: In a transmission comprising an endless silent chain and a sprocket the inside tooth faces of the link plates of the chain are identical to tooth profiles, arranged axially, of a hob cutter for forming teeth of the sprocket. The inside and outside tooth faces also satisfy Hi=Ho+Hs, where Hi is the distance from a pin center line Lp to a pitch line Li of the inside tooth faces, Ho is a distance from the pin center line to a pitch line Lo of the outside tooth faces, and Hs is the amplitude of polygonal motion of the chain. Each link plate also has a concave bottom surface between its teeth to avoid interference with edges of the involute teeth arising due to the chain polygonal motion amplitude when the outside tooth faces are brought into meshing engagement with the involute teeth and become seated thereon.

  • Patent number: 6702757
Abstract: An apparatus for examining a subject's brain functions acquires two or more indexes of pupillary indexes that show the subject's pupillary characteristics, visual indexes that show the subject's visual system functions, intelligence evaluating indexes that are results of the an intelligence test carried out on the subject, and behavior evaluating indexes that show the results the subject's behavior examination. Two or more indexes are stored in a memory and outputted from an output unit. By combining two or more kinds of independent indexes, accurate determination of dementia cases and further the degree of senescence of brain functions can be achieved. In addition, the brain function examining apparatus puts together a number of a plurality of indexes by the multivariate calculation and converts the indexes into different values of fewer numbers.

  • Patent number: 6533107
Abstract: A silent chain power transmitting apparatus includes a silent chain and two or more sprockets with different number of teeth, wherein the sprockets each have a tooth form formed by hobbing with a hob cutter having teeth profiled similarly with the profile of a series of trapezoidal teeth formed by the inside flanks of longitudinally overlapping link plates of the silent chain so as to cut the periphery of a cylindrical workpiece with an amount of addendum modification set in such a manner that an engagement height of the inside flank at the onset of the meshing engagement between the silent chain and the sprocket is in equal to the distance between the sprocket center and the connecting pin centers when the silent chain is wrapped around and seated on the sprocket. The outside flanks of the silent chain have a first portion profiled by an envelope that is tangent to every one of a group of tooth forms of the sprockets when the silent chain is wrapped around the sprockets with different numbers of teeth.

  • Publication number: 20030027675
Abstract: In a silent chain transmission, sprocket teeth have different forms, depending on the number of teeth on each sprocket. The engagement level of a chain advancing onto each sprocket matches the radius of the chain's pitch circle when seated on the sprocket. The teeth of all the sprockets are produced by a hob cutter having tooth forms substantially similar to the shapes of the inside flanks of the chain's link plates. The profiles of the outside flanks of the link plates of the chain are composed of a linear tooth head line for contacting a sprocket having a minimum number of teeth, and an arc-shaped tooth bottom line for contacting a sprocket having a maximum number of teeth, connected by an arc-shaped intermediate line. Chordal action is avoided in all the sprockets, and vibration and noise are reduced, suppressing changes in tension in the chain and resulting in improved durability.

  • Patent number: 6461263
Abstract: A silent chain drive mechanism includes a silent chain for transmitting power between a larger sprocket and a smaller sprocket, wherein the inside flanks of one link plate of the silent chain are profiled to project outward of the outside flanks of the adjacent link plates, and tooth flank configurations of the larger and smaller sprockets are formed by involute curves arranged to satisfy the expression A1>Ac≧A2, where A1 is a pressure angle of the smaller sprocket, A2 is a pressure angle of the larger sprocket, and Ac is a pressure angle of the inside flanks of teeth of the link plates. With this arrangement, the chordal action of the silent chain is suppressed at both the larger sprocket side and the smaller sprocket side, thereby reducing vibrations and noises accompanied with the chordal action and improving the driving performance and durability.

  • Publication number: 20020137584
Abstract: A rocker pin type silent chain in which a joint row and a guide row are arranged in alternation and their link plates are interleaved and articulably connected by long and short rocker pins. The linear pitch, defined by the separation of points on a pitch line intersected by lines tangent to the rolling surfaces of the rocker pins at the contact point when the chain is in a straight condition, is made equal to the chordal pitch, defined by the linear distance between intersection of similar lines with a pitch circle when adjacent links are bent as the chain is wrapped around a sprocket. With a silent chain thus constructed each link in the silent chain meshes properly with the teeth of the sprocket torque is distributed uniformly over the teeth in mesh with the sprocket.
