  • Patent number: 5463949
Abstract: Prevention of damages on the printing surface of plastic gravure plate is the object. Radius of the plate cylinder 14, impression cylinder 11, and transfer drum 2 located between units are identical. The plate cylinders 14, 24 and the impression cylinders 11, 21 are arranged so that the lines L1 and L2 are parallel to each other. The grippers 12, 22 are arranged so that the gripper 22 of the impression cylinder 21 is at the point P.sub.21 when the gripper 12 of the impression cylinder 11 is at the point P.sub.11. Thus, a paper sheet transferred from the impression cylinder 11 to the transfer drum 2 at the nearest point P.sub.1 is transferred by the rotation of the transfer drum 2 at the nearest point P.sub.2 by the rotation of the transfer drum 2. Since the phases of the plate cylinders 14 and 24 are in agreement, the doctor blade is stopped at the same relative location for all the units.

  • Patent number: 5317972
Abstract: A printing machine is disclosed in which a sleeve having a tapered side surface is provided movably in an axial direction to a gripper shaft 5 arranged in parallel to a plate cylinder shaft 2. A sleeve member 25 is provided movably in the axial direction of the plate cylinder shaft 2. The sleeve member 25 is connected to the sleeve by a swingable arm. A screw 18 which is brought into contact with the tapered side surface of the sleeve is fixed to a bracket 16 mounted on the gripper shaft 5. Furthermore, a plate 13, a gripper 10 and a front abutment are provided on the gripper shaft 5, the front abutment being moved. An amount of displacement of an image position on the printing plate relative to a regular or normal position is obtained by intersecting two lines 47b and 47c formed at the clamp end portion.

  • Patent number: 4945830
Abstract: An off-set printing machine for printing a continuous web includes a first pair of gears 12c, 14b in mesh with each other, one gear being fixedly mounted coaxially on one of blanket and impression cylinders 12, 14 for rotation therewith while the other gear is rotatably mounted coaxially on the other of the cylinders and is releasably fixable thereto for rotation therewith. There are provided a second pair of gears 12b, 10b in mesh with each other, one of the second pair of gear being fixedly mounted coaxially on one of the blanket and plate cylinders 12, 10 for rotation therewith while the other of the second pair of gears is rotatably mounted coaxially on the other of the blanket and plate cylinders and is releasably fixable thereto for rotation therewith.

  • Patent number: 4864928
Abstract: A printing machine for printing a continuous slip includes an angularly-movable lifter shaft disposed below a path of feed of the printing sheet, and a lifter fixedly mounted on the lifter shaft for angular movement therewith toward and away from the underside of the printing sheet. An urging device normally urges the lifter away from the printing sheet. A first tension applying device is operatively connected to the lifter shaft and is operable to angularly move the lifter shaft together with the lifter against the bias of the urging device so as to bring the lifter into engagement with the underside of the printing sheet to apply tension to the printing sheet when impression and blanket cylinders are spaced from each other, thereby preventing a slack developing on the printing sheet.

  • Patent number: 4593619
Abstract: A numbering device for an offset printing press including a slide mechanism. The slide mechanism includes a pair of slide plates fixed to frames of the numbering device and two pairs of rollers fixed to frames of the main machine, wherein the slide plates are received between respective pairs of the guide rollers such that the numbering device can be slid towards and away from the main machine. A first gear is mounted on a drive shaft of the main machine, while a second gear is mounted on a numbering impression cylinder of the numbering device. The two gears are engaged when the numbering device is slid towards the main machine and disengaged for the opposite direction of movement of the numbering device. A detent mechanism is provided for fixing the numbering device in either the engaged or disengaged positions of the gears.

  • Patent number: 4475456
Abstract: A printing apparatus of the type capable of printing on both sides of a paper supplied thereto is improved by enabling simple operation through the use of a single operating lever. Adjustment devices allow simple vertical and transversely adjustment of the plate cylinders with respect to the paper position. After printing is effected, the operating lever is shifted stepwise from the printing position to a starting position through intermediate positions wherein blanket cleaning and plate ejection functions are effected. Changeover between single and two-sided printing is easily effected by a simple switch operation.
