Patent number: 10353356Abstract: The present disclosure relates, in some embodiments, to methods and systems of geosteering or geological operations. In some embodiments, systems of the present disclosure may transmit MWD or LWD data to a processor. The processor may extrapolate and convert the MWD or LWD data into KBTVD or pseudo-vertical data. Said extrapolation may be performed based on algorithmic expressions between the True Vertical Depth, the formation dip angle, and a Vertical Section Distance. In some embodiments, vertical data may be extrapolated by a processor and converted into pseudo-horizontal data. In some embodiments, systems may evaluate the formation dip angle and extrapolate a corrected true thickness of an interval layer. Screen representations of aforementioned data may be provided for. Embodiments of the present disclosure may provide for improved or more accurate data and/or virtualizations in the horizontal and/or vertical directions.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 2015Date of Patent: July 16, 2019Assignee: BHL BORESIGHT, INC.Inventors: Raymond Woodward, John Northcott, Kent Davis

Patent number: 5330777Abstract: A method for providing sealed internal labels for vacuum skin packages and the like is disclosed. Labels with a heat sealable printed surface are placed on the trayed product prior to entering a vacuum skin packaging chamber. In the chamber the covering film is heated to its sealing temperature before it is applied by differential air pressure to the product and tray. The label seals to the interior surface of the covering film and is protected from being defaced during handling. Furthermore moisture and juices from the product will not discolor the label as it is sealed on its printed surface to the covering film. The package produced is intended for the display case in a retail supermarket.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 1990Date of Patent: July 19, 1994Assignee: W. R. Patent number: 4886690Abstract: A vacuum skin package for packaging fresh red meat and like articles is produced by using a composite, multilayer, oxygen barrier, vacuum skin packaging forming film in which the barrier layer can be manually separated from the non-barrier, oxygen permeable layer. After the vaccum skin package is formed to enclose a fresh red meat product in a vacuum the meat will have a purplish color. Then, after storage, the barrier layer can be removed so that the remaining permeable film can admit oxygen to impart the desirable red bloom to the fresh meat. Of importance is the "tear through" feature of the permeable inner layer which has a greater bond strength to the tray than internal strength or layer-to-layer bond strength so that a tab may be torn loose at a score line and then the barrier layer may be readily delaminated and peeled from the permeable layer.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 1987Date of Patent: December 12, 1989Assignee: W. R. Grace & Co.Inventors: Kent A. Davis, Solomon Bekele, Henry W. Stockley

Patent number: 4047235Abstract: In a power conversion system wherein AC input current is supplied through contacts of a circuit breaker and phase controlled rectifiers, a control derives a DC signal, I.sub.o, proportional to the square of the RMS value of actual current. The summation of I.sub.o and I.sub.ref, a signal representative of desired AC current limit value, is applied to an integrator whose output is coupled to an amplifier. A tripping circuit for opening the contacts is coupled through a first diode from the integrator output. A current limit circuit for regulating the phase controlled rectifiers is coupled through a second diode from the amplifier output. A clamping circuit establishes proper integrator and amplifier outputs. When the AC current is below the critical limit value, and I.sub.o is less than I.sub.ref, both diodes are back biased and neither the tripping nor current limit regulator circuits are enabled. When the AC current attains the critical limit value, I.sub.o is equal to I.sub.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 1976Date of Patent: September 6, 1977Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventor: Richard Kent Davis

Patent number: 4041405Abstract: A generator for generating sawtooth waveforms having equal excursion of predetermined amplitude about a reference level, synchronized in frequency with the zero crossings of an AC signal. The AC signal is applied to a zero crossing detector whose resulting pulse output is connected to the input of a first integrating amplifier. The latter integrates in a first direction to produce at its output a rapid potential excursion in a first direction to a predetermined amplitude established by a Zener clamping circuit connected across the first integrator. Upon termination of each zero crossing pulse, a source of DC connected through a resistor to the input of the first integrator, produces integration in a second direction and a gradual change of integrator output in a second polarity direction until the occurrence of the next zero crossing pulse. The sawtooth output is connected to the input of a second integrating amplifier.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 1976Date of Patent: August 9, 1977Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventor: Richard Kent Davis
