  • Patent number: 10990869
Abstract: Systems and methods for operating a tag system. The methods comprising: wirelessly communicating, from a tag, a first signal at a first frequency spectrum that allows a tag reader to detect the first signal, when the tag is not proximate to an antenna modulation marker or when the antenna modulation marker has a first orientation relative to the tag; and performing operations by the tag to wirelessly communicate a second signal at a second frequency spectrum that does not allow the tag reader to detect the first signal, when the tag is proximate to the antenna modulation marker or when the antenna modulation marker has a second different orientation relative to the tag.

  • Patent number: 10814649
Abstract: A printing system includes a liquid ejector configured to deposit a curable layer on a surface of a substrate, the layer having a free surface and an interface between the layer and the substrate. A pre-curing device pre-cures the layer such that a first region closer to the free surface is less cured than a second region closer to the interface. The curing device includes a pre-curing initiator source configured to provide a pre-curing initiator that polymerizes the layer. The curing device also includes a pre-curing inhibitor source configured to deliver an inhibitor that inhibits polymerization of the layer. A particle delivery device delivers particles to the layer after the layer is pre-cured.

  • Patent number: 10744695
Abstract: Disclosed are compositions of a fused filament fabrication (FFF) composite filament having embedded functional materials in a thermoplastic matrix. Methods of making the composite filaments are also disclosed. In one example, a FFF composite filament incorporates a MOF, in an amount greater than 10% by mass, dispersed in a matrix polymer. One example of a method of synthesizing FFF composite filaments involves mixing a suspension that has a MOF with a matrix polymer solution to yield a polymer-MOF mixture. The mixture is cast and dried into a solid composite material, which is formed a FFF composite filament having the MOF in an amount greater than 10% by mass.

  • Patent number: 10688808
Abstract: A system and method for treatment of thread includes a thread printer that applies colored coatings to thread. A camera is positioned to capture images of the treated thread after it passes through an outlet of the thread printer. The system processes the images to determine whether the location of a selected segment of the treated thread corresponds to an expected location. If the actual location of the selected segment corresponds to the expected location, the system will continue instructing the thread printer to selectively apply the colored coatings to the thread according to the pattern. However, if the actual location does not correspond to the expected location, the system will modify the pattern so that thread printer adjusts the size of one or more segment to automatically account for the misalignment.

  • Patent number: 10525734
Abstract: A system and method for treatment of thread includes a thread printer that applies colored coatings to thread and that passes the treated thread to a fabric weaving system. A camera is positioned to capture images of the treated thread as it is woven into a fabric in the fabric weaving system. The system processes the images to determine whether the location of a selected segment of the treated thread in the fabric corresponds to an expected location in the fabric. If the actual location of the selected segment corresponds to the expected location, the system will continue instructing the thread printer to selectively apply the colored coatings to the thread according to the pattern.
