Abstract: The subject invention provides microbe-based products, as well as their use to improve oil production and refining efficiency by, for example, remediating the disposable layers in oil tanks and other oil storage units. In preferred embodiments, the microbe-based products comprise biochemical-producing yeast and growth by-products thereof, such as, e.g., biosurfactants. The subject invention can be used to remediate rag layer and/or other dissolved solid layers that form in water-oil emulsions. Furthermore, the subject invention can be used for remediating solid impurities, such as sand, scale, rust and clay, in produced water, flow-back, brine, and/or fracking fluids.

Abstract: The subject invention provides microbe-based products, as well as their use in simultaneously enhancing oil recovery from an oil well while efficiently removing contaminating compositions such as biofilm, scale, paraffin, and/or asphaltenes from oil production equipment and oil-bearing formations. The subject invention can also be used to disperse paraffin and asphaltene precipitates, and to reduce the viscosity of heavy crude oil. The subject invention further provides materials and methods for bioremediation of hydrocarbon-contaminated sites.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for determining suitability of an orthodontic treatment. The method is implemented with at least one computational device and involves posing one or more queries relating to a potential patient. One or more answers to the queries are received and the suitability of the orthodontic treatment is determined based upon the received answers. Advantageously, the potential patient may conveniently perform a self-determination relating to the suitability of the orthodontic treatment prior to arranging a formal assessment with an orthodontist.
