  • Publication number: 20040159484
Abstract: A snowmobile exhaust system is provided. One aspect of the invention includes a snowmobile comprising an engine that has at least one exhaust pipe configured to carry warm exhaust gases from the engine. At least one seat is coupled to the snowmobile, and the exhaust pipe is arranged so that the seat is thermal communication with at least a portion of the exhaust pipe. Another aspect of the invention includes a snowmobile having a front section and a back section, with an engine located in the front section and an exhaust pipe is coupled to the engine. The snowmobile is configured so that the operator is positioned behind the engine, with the exhaust pipe terminating behind the operator.

  • Patent number: 6595309
Abstract: An extended movement rear suspension for a snowmobile. The suspension includes at least two elongated members of a substantially constant length coupled to the snowmobile frame and to an endless track guide rail assembly. The suspension configures the endless track into a generally triangular shape.

  • Publication number: 20020129982
Abstract: A snowmobile drive train employing a drive belt and an endless track is provided. The snowmobile comprises an engine including an output shaft, with a support member located adjacent to the engine. A drive pulley and a driven pulley are mounted on the support member so that the drive belt can be removed from the snowmobile by passing the drive belt over the pulleys. An isolation member couples the engine output shaft to the driven pulley, and the support member maintains the drive and driven pulleys in a constant positional relationship relative to each other. The support member also includes reduction gears for driving the endless track.

  • Patent number: 6263991
Abstract: A extended movement rear suspension for a snowmobile. The suspension includes at least two elongated members of a substantially constant length coupled to the snowmobile frame and to an endless track guide rail assembly. The suspension keeps the guide rail assembly at a substantially constant angular orientation relative to the frame for improved performance and operator comfort. The suspension also configures the endless track into a generally triangular shape.
