Kent Harmon has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Publication number: 20080013347
Abstract: An electrical power converter system adjusts a wakeup voltage periodically, to permit earlier connection and/or operation, to increase performance. The electrical power converter system selects between a mathematically adjusted wakeup voltage based on at least one previous period, and a table derived wakeup voltage that takes into account historical information. The electrical power converter system is particularly suited to applications with periodicity such as solar based photovoltaic power generation.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 2, 2007
    Publication date: January 17, 2008
    Applicant: BALLARD POWER SYSTEMS CORPORATION
Inventors: Duo Deng, Anil Tuladhar, Kent Harmon
  • Publication number: 20070012492
Abstract: A switch/power conditioning module may be added to a hybrid vehicle to selectively supply power from an AC power bus to a load, providing on-vehicle standby power generating capability with a minimum of added hardware and/or when the vehicle is stationary.
    Type: Application
    Filed: June 20, 2006
    Publication date: January 18, 2007
Inventors: Duo Deng, Kent Harmon, John Franklin

  • Patent number: 6170768
Abstract: A dilute phase pneumatic materials conveyance apparatus is disclosed having a pneumatic accelerator which is capable of conveying materials through a gas stream which is selectively patterned. The conveyance apparatus also includes a source-gas manifold and control apparatus which enable selective control of the apparatus on a real time basis to achieve desired gas pattern flows through the apparatus to achieve selected particle dispersion, isolation, stratification, electrification, classification and entrainment of material and to convey it through a processing conduit. The configuration of the conveyance apparatus also enables further processing, including drying, sorting, pulverization and classification of the materials. The conveyance apparatus also enables classification of materials based on the aerodynamic diameter of the particles being conveyed because of the ability to achieve particle isolation.
