  • Publication number: 20050240312
Abstract: An integrated HVACR control and protection system includes a modular and reprogrammable design providing a plurality of possible combinations of power detection, voltage detection, run current detection, transient current detection, temperature detection, universal thermostat interface, peripheral or remote control, and local display and control. The control and protection system is capable of evaluating the relationship between real power used by an HVACR system compressor and other system operating parameters to detect problems early in the failure cycle, i.e., before a failure has progressed to requiring a system shutdown or causing damage to other components. Additionally, a control system and method provide sensorless detection of various HVACR system faults, such as, for example, loss of refrigerant or a refrigerant flow restriction, that impact the relationship between real power and current, voltage, temperature, or other operating parameters.

  • Publication number: 20050092328
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing an endotracheal tube holder which prevents injury to a neo-natal patient, including a flexible arcuate face plate, an tube holding member that is placed in the face plate in front of the patient's mouth, and an attachment mechanism which does not cause elastic compression on the neo-natal patient. A bite block is provided for preventing damage caused by the neo-natal patient biting on the endotracheal tube, the tube holding member is able to adjust to different sizes of endotracheal tubes to thereby hold them firm, an additional tube can be added for simultaneous access to the patient's mouth, cheek pads prevent injury to the patient's cheeks, and integral eye protection is provided on the attachment device.

  • Patent number: 6086397
Abstract: A power strip is disclosed with an access panel which is situated and designed such that upon its removal, a sensor may be readily attached and the current load monitored. The access panel is arranged such that the receptacles, the power strip itself, or any of the electrical devices connected to the power strip do not need to be powered down to access the internal circuitry. The "back-wiring" design of the present invention allows for the replacement of any receptacle without interrupting the flow of electrical current to the remaining receptacles. The "back-wiring" design ensures the electrical load is evenly distributed across all the receptacles while providing a secondary path by which the electrical current may reach the receptacles. Thus, the disruption of electrical current across one wire will not result in the disruption of electrical current to any receptacle. Additionally, protective cover plates are utilized to prevent the unauthorized insertion of electrical cords into a power strip.
