    Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and system for securing the visual identity of a traveler to their travel documents. The method includes the steps of receiving a picture based form of identification from a traveler requesting travel documents, visually verifying the traveler matches the identification, obtaining the traveler's travel documents and subsequently, or simultaneously with obtaining the traveler's travel documents, then securing the picture based identification or an image of the traveler to the travel documents.
