  • Publication number: 20170206673
Abstract: Provided is an information processing apparatus that provides screen information to be displayed on an image display apparatus that is worn by a user on the head or face and used for viewing an image. On the basis of an image of a head mount display (HMD) captured by a camera mounted on an information terminal, the mutual positional relationship and posture between the HMD and the information terminal are grasped, and screen information transmitted from the information terminal is superimposed and displayed in a contents reproducing screen of the HMD being viewed with an appropriate posture at an appropriate position on the reproducing screen. Since only the information terminal is present with the same position and posture as in the real world in the contents reproducing screen, a user can perform a screen operation of the information terminal with the HMD on.

  • Publication number: 20170186236
Abstract: There is provided an excellent image display device allowing observation of a surrounding scene by a video see-through method. While an authentication process is being performed, a head-mounted display 100 superimposes, and displays, an authentication screen on a video see-through image captured by an outside camera 312. Accordingly, a user is enabled to observe the surrounding scene by the video see-through image during the authentication process. Even when using the head-mounted display 100 while walking outdoors, the user is enabled to constantly grasp his/her surroundings, and the safety may be secured.

  • Publication number: 20170169621
Abstract: A wide angle image to be displayed on a screen fixed on the head or the face of a user is processed. When a display view angle reaches a boundary of an original wide angle image 701, an indicator 703 indicating reaching the boundary is added to a free viewpoint image 702. The indicator 703 is apart of the free viewpoint image 702 which is in contact with a boundary 704 of the wide angle image 701 or protrudes from the boundary 704 and is displayed as a black-painted frame. By observing such the indicator 703, the user can intuitively understand that the display area reaches the limit of the wide angle image.

  • Publication number: 20170150230
Abstract: [Object] To propose an information processing apparatus, information processing method, and program capable of allowing users to share their viewpoints or lines of sight in a situation where a plurality of users share a content for which the users can move their viewpoints or line-of-sight directions. [Solution] Provided is an information processing apparatus including: an acquisition unit configured to acquire line-of-sight information indicating a first user's line of sight detected in response to presentation of a content; and a management unit configured to associate the acquired line-of-sight information with the content as control information for controlling the presentation of the content to a second user different from the first user.

  • Publication number: 20170083084
Abstract: Provided is an image display device configured to display a free viewpoint image that tracks a movement of observer's head and trunk. The line-of-sight direction and trunk orientation of the user are individually oriented in a free viewpoint space displayed on a display device 500 based on posture information of the user's head and trunk, which are respectively obtained from a head motion tracking device 200 and a trunk motion tracking device 300. A behavior that is natural in real space can be represented by moving a line of sight to a front direction of the trunk on a space in a state where the line of sight does not match the front direction of the trunk. An unnatural UI that goes straight to the line-of-sight direction is prevented regardless of orientation of the trunk.

  • Publication number: 20160379413
Abstract: To provide an excellent image display device worn on a head or face and used to view images, and an image display method. When displaying an image of a virtual world, such as a movie or computer graphics, with a display unit 309, a head-mounted display 100 temporarily removes the image in a portion specified with a touch panel, and display an image of the real world captured with an outward-facing camera 312. By looking at the image of the real world mixed in with the image of the virtual world, the user is able to perceive the real world and suitably interact with the real world, thereby making it possible to lessen psychological resistance while also avoiding physical harm due to events such as collisions with objects in the real world.

  • Publication number: 20160252955
Abstract: An image following a movement of a head of a user who observes an image is generated. At a drawing device 300, posture angle data to be received at a certain time after a time series of posture angle data that have already been received are predicted, and rendering processing is performed on an image based on the predicted posture angle data. A prediction algorithm for the posture angle data is roughly divided into two steps: (1) estimating a predicted time to receive the posture angle data; and (2) predicting the posture angle data at the predicted time. By rendering the image at the predicted time from the predicted posture angle data, a sense of delay felt when the image following the movement of the head of the user is presented is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20150346494
Abstract: A display apparatus includes a frame, an image display apparatus attached to the frame, and a distortion correction apparatus. The image display apparatus includes an image forming apparatus and an optical system configured to guide an image from the image forming apparatus to a pupil of an observer. When it is assumed that a direction, which corresponds to a first direction of the image, of the image forming apparatus is an X-direction and a direction, which corresponds to a second direction of the image which direction is different from the first direction, of the image forming apparatus is a Y-direction, the image forming apparatus is curved in the X-direction and/or in the Y-direction.
