    Abstract: A battery excavator 1 as an electric powered working machine includes a secondary battery 201, a battery management unit 202 that manages the secondary battery 201, and a controller 300 that controls a normal charge or a diagnostic charge for the secondary battery 201. The controller 300 includes: a diagnostic charge recommendation determination unit 301 that determines whether to recommend the diagnostic charge or not based on an operation history of the secondary battery output from the battery management unit 202; and a diagnostic charge execution determination unit 302 that determines whether to execute the diagnostic charge or not based on a state of the secondary battery output from the battery management unit 202, an estimated charge period necessary for the diagnostic charge, and a site work plan including a work start time, when the diagnostic charge is determined to be recommended.

A rotational speed controller (26B) switches a rotational speed command from a set rotational speed by a rotational speed command device (27) to a low idling rotational speed based upon the idling state flag. At this time, an engine (8) drives in the low idling rotational speed lower than the set rotational speed. A gate controller (24) stops switching of an inverter (23) while the low idling controller (26A) is lowering a rotational speed of the engine (8).
