Publication number: 20240099210Abstract: The present inventors aimed to identify the gene responsible for the temperature-sensitive male sterility trait in “PL12” and to provide a method for producing conditional male sterile plants targeting the gene, and performed whole genome sequence analysis on “PL12” and the original variety thereof to compare the two. As a result, it was found that there was a deletion of about 150 kb in “PL12” chromosome 7. Then, as for this region, six types of partial deletion lines were produced by genome editing, and the presence or absence of the temperature-sensitive male sterility trait in each line was used as an index to successfully narrow the range, containing the responsible mutation, down to about 10 kb. Furthermore, as a result of creating a line with genome editing-disrupted functions of the two genes located in this region, the gene responsible for the temperature-sensitive male sterility trait was successfully identified.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 25, 2021Publication date: March 28, 2024Applicant: National Agriculture and Food Research OrganizationInventors: Makiko KAWAGISHI, Kentaro SASAKI, Tsukasa NUNOME

Patent number: 11386282Abstract: In an optical information reader which optically reads an information code, a first polarizing unit arranged on the light-exit side of a lighting unit is configured to polarize illumination light therefrom in a predetermined polarization direction. In addition, a second polarizing unit arranged on the light-reception side of a light receiving sensor is configured as a switchable polarization unit, in which the switchable polarization unit is capable of performing a switchover between a polarized state in which light reflected from the information code is polarized in a direction different from the predetermined polarization direction and a passing state where the reflected light passes therethrough without being polarized.Type: GrantFiled: December 25, 2019Date of Patent: July 12, 2022Assignee: DENSO WAVE INCORPORATEDInventors: Kenryo Yamamoto, Koji Konosu, Makoto Ito, Kentaro Sasaki
