    Abstract: According to one embodiment, in this invention, a control method for a switching power supply using pulse width modulation (PWM) control, includes detecting an input voltage to be supplied to the switching power supply, detecting an output voltage from the switching power supply, calculating a timing for sampling a current for the PWM control, based on a ratio between the detected input voltage and the detected output voltage, and detecting the current based on the calculated timing.
