Abstract: Mechanisms are described for receiving touch inputs on a touch screen display in a way that does not obscure the images and content presented on the display. Content, including selectable elements, is displayed in a main portion of a display, where as an input region that does not overlap with the main portion is provided on the display for receiving touch input selecting particular selectable elements. An extrapolated touch input in the main portion of the display is determined based on the location of the touch input in the input region, such that selection of a particular selectable element may be accomplished when the location of the extrapolated touch input coincides with the location of the selectable element.

Abstract: Mechanisms are described for identifying objects based on a social context of the object. In other words, objects, such as devices, systems, and physical objects that are configured to communicate data on a network, that are accessible to a user may be identified via the user's social links. In particular, a social link associated with a user of a device may be accessed, and an object may be identified using the social link, where the object is connected to a network. Presentation of an indication of the object, such as a marker, an identifier, a hyperlink, etc., may be provided for using the display of the user's device. In this way, a user may be able to see, and in some cases use or manipulate, objects that are owned by parties with whom the user has a social connection and to which the party has granted the user certain permissions.

Abstract: A system, apparatus, method and article to establish device connections are described. The apparatus may include an input device to receive identification information for a selected target device. The apparatus may also include a connection module operative to send a connection request message including the identification information to one or more target devices and receive a connection response message from the selected target device. The connection response message includes confirmation that the identification information corresponds to local identification information stored on the selected target device. The apparatus may also include a communication module operative to establish a wireless connection between the mobile computing device and the selected target device based on the corresponding identification information. Abstract: A system, apparatus, method and article for context enhanced wireless discovery are described. The apparatus may include a discovery module to receive status information for one or more target devices, the status information comprising physical characteristics of the one or more target devices. The apparatus may also include a composition manager to generate a graphical user interface including icons representing the one or more target devices, the icons including graphical representations of the status information.
