  • Patent number: 6480244
Abstract: The present invention provides an electrooptical panel and electronic appliances provided with the electrooptical panel, wherein production yield and a pixel aperture ratio are not decreased even when pixels are made fine in the electrooptical panel using an active matrix addressing method by TFT addressing. The foregoing problems can be solved by putting a plurality of communication lines into electrical contact with the TFT array substrate via contact holes, wherein a plurality of pixel electrodes addressed using a TFT by the data line and scanning line are provided. A lift-up film is formed under the contact holes formed through an interlayer insulation film to put the drain region of the TFT in electrical contact with the pixel electrode.

  • Publication number: 20020080461
Abstract: The invention provides an electro-optical device includes a first substrate and a second substrate sandwiching an electro-optical substance. The substrates are provided with a sealing material disposed between the substrates, for bonding the substrates to each other at a sealing region disposed along the peripheries of the substrates. The first substrate is provided thereon with pixel electrodes, wires extending from the inside of an image display region to the outside of the sealing region, and a vertically conducting pad disposed in the sealing region. The second substrate is provided thereon with an opposing electrode opposing the pixel electrodes and having a vertical conductor section opposing the vertically conducting pad. The sealing material includes an electrically conductive material at least in a portion of the sealing material disposed between the vertically conducting pad and the vertical conductor section, whereby the sealing material functions as a vertical conductor.

  • Publication number: 20020073961
Abstract: To improve the efficiency of assembling multiple on-off valves into a manifold body and reduce resistance to rotation of a shaft after assembly, frame members (3) are fitted in downstream end portions of individual intake passage sections (12) of a manifold body (2), on-off valves (4) are placed inside the individual frame members (3) and a shaft (5) is passed through the on-off valves (4) in such a way that the frame members (3) constitute parts of inside walls of intake passages where the on-off valves (4) are located, the frame members (3) rotatably supporting the on-off valves (4) and the shaft (5). A cutout (23) is formed in a surrounding wall of each frame member (3), thereby making each frame member (3) expandable and compressible by elastic deformation.

  • Patent number: 6404414
Abstract: On a liquid crystal device substrate 1, a capacitor 85 is provided between reset signal lines 81 and 82 for applying reset potentials to the respective data lines prior to the supply of the image signals to the data lines, and a potentiostatic line 84. The capacitor 85 is formed by making use of each of the processes for producing a TFT 50 for applying the reset potentials to the respective data lines prior to the supply of the image signals to the data lines. A liquid crystal device and a projection display device employing the liquid crystal device prevent signals from circulating from data lines via a reset signal line, thus permitting higher quality of display to be achieved.

  • Publication number: 20020058572
Abstract: An exercise machine includes: a frame resting on an underlying surface; a seat mounted to the frame and configured to receive a seated user; a pair of support pads mounted to the frame forwardly of and above the seat, each of the support pads positioned to engage one of the upper arms and the elbows of the seated user; a pair of movement arm units pivotally interconnected with the frame and movable about respective generally horizontal axes of rotation; and a resistance system connected with the movement arm units. Each of the pair of movement arm units is configured to engage the forearms and/or the hands of the user and is movable between an extended position, in which the seated user's arms are substantially straight, and a curled position, in which the user's arms are bent. The axes of rotation form an angle of between about 115 and 155 degrees.
