Abstract: An engine oil composition is composed of: (1) at least one oil selected from the group consisting of a mineral oil and a synthetic lubricant as a base oil; (2) a molybdenum dithiocarbamate in an amount of 50 to 2000 ppm by weight when calculated as molybdenum (Mo), relative to the total weight of the engine oil composition; (3) zinc dithiophosphate in an amount of 0.01 to 0.2 wt % when calculated as phosphorus (P), relative to the total amount of the engine oil composition; and (4) an ashless organic polysulfide compound in an amount of 0.01 to 0.4 wt % when calculated as sulfur (S), relative to the total amount of the engine oil composition.

Abstract: A lubricating oil composition comprising a lubricating base oil, an amine salt of molybdic acid, and a molybdenmn dithiocarbamate and/or a molybdenum dithiophosphate, wherein the content of molybdenum derived from the amine salt of molybdic acid is 200 ppm by weight or more, the content of molybdenum derived from the molybdenum dithiocarbamate and/or the molybdenum dithiophosphate is 200 to 700 ppm by weight, and the total content of molybdemum is 400 ppm by weight or more. The lubricating oil composition can maintain the effect to decrease friction in engines for a long time without being affected by nitrogen oxide gases.

Abstract: Hydraulic fluids for automobile suspensions are described. They contain, as a base oil, a mixed oil which in turn contains 70-90 wt. % of an olefin oligomer and 10-30 wt. % of a diester obtained by condensation of an aliphatic dibasic acid having 4-14 carbon atoms and an alcohol having 4-14 carbon atoms. The hydraulic fluids also comprise a phosphate ester friction modifier to improve the friction characteristics and antiwear characteristics in an initial stage and at least one friction modifier selected from the group consisting of phosphite esters and phosphoric ester amine salts to retain low friction characteristics over a long period of time.

Abstract: A synthetic lubricating oil composition which is suitable for lubrication of mechanical super charger, which composition comprises(A) a diester of an aliphatic dibasic acid having 4 to 14 carbon atoms and an alcohol having 4 to 14 carbon atoms, or a mixture thereof, of which viscosity at 100.degree. C. is 2-7 mm.sup.2 /s; and(B) a polyoxyalkylene glycol ether or a polyoxyalkylene glycol ester having 2 to 5 carbon atoms in its alkylene group, or a mixture thereof, of which viscosity at 100.degree. C. is not less than 30 mm.sup.2 /s; and which composition may further comprise(C) an .alpha.-olefin oligomer having a kinematic viscosity at 100.degree. C. of 3-6 mm.sup.2 /s.

Abstract: A wear-resistant, synthetic lubricating oil composition comprises as a base oil a synthetic oil mixture consisting of (A) a diester of an aliphatic dibasic acid having 4-14 carbon atoms and an alcohol having so many carbon atoms or a mixture of several such diesters and having a viscosity at 100.degree. C. of 2.0-7.0 mm.sup.2 /s, and (B) a polyoxyalkylene glycol whose alkylene group contains 2-5 carbon atoms or a mixture of several such glycols and having a viscosity at 100.degree. C. of at least 20 mm.sup.2 /s. The base oil exhibits viscosity values of 9 mm.sup.2 /s or above at 100.degree. C. and 6.times.10.sup.4 mPa.s or below at -40.degree. C.
