  • Patent number: 4582252
Abstract: A casing has an inlet opening and outlet openings. A partition wall divides the interior of the casing into first and second chambers and also divides the inlet opening into two segments communicating separately with the first and second chambers. A heat exchanger extends into both of the first and second chambers. Air is supplied from the first chamber to a front area of a vehicle interior via at least one of the outlet openings. Air is normally supplied from the second chamber to a rear area of the vehicle interior via the other outlet opening.

  • Patent number: 4391356
Abstract: An electromagnetic clutch includes a mechanism which is responsive to a first short energization of an electromagnet thereof to cause a spring arrangement therein to snap to a reverse configuration wherein it holds the clutch engaged until a second short energization with a current larger than that used for the first energization, whereupon the mechanism again reverses the configuration of the spring and subsequently causes the clutch to disengage.

  • Patent number: 4151683
Abstract: A door for vehicles which includes an outer door panel and an inner door panel and is equipped with a window regulator unit. The inner panel is formed with an attachment recess for a window glass regulator unit and a slit. The window regulator unit is attached to the bottom of the attachment recess and has a window regulator arm or connecting pin extending through the slit into a space between the outer and inner panels for operative connection with an attachment plate fixed to the door glass, the connecting pin interconnecting the door glass and the window regulator arm.

  • Patent number: 4028516
Abstract: An acceleration detector using a combination of a bar magnet, an inertial substance or body and a fixed contact, in which the inertial substance is secured to the free end of a plate-spring supported in a cantilever fashion and having a pair of opposing curved portions.

  • Patent number: 3949623
Abstract: A steering column assembly for a motor vehicle having a collision sensor which provides a collision signal in the event of a collision. It comprises a telescopic steering rod having a lower part and an upper part carrying a steering wheel, and means for normally stopping the upper part axial movement relative to the lower part in its normally operative position and for driving the upper part to a retracted safe position in the direction toward the lower part upon receipt of the collision signal.

  • Patent number: 3944764
Abstract: An inertia sensor switch comprises an insulating housing having an electrical contact plate connectable to one electric terminal, an electrical contact mass abuttingly engageable with the electrical contact plate and resilient means for holding the electrical contact mass to a position spaced from the electrical contact plate, in which the resilient means is a U-configured resilient strip of an electrical conductive material having one leg fixed to the electrical contact mass and other leg secured to the interior of the insulating housing, the other leg being connectable to another electric terminal cooperating with the one electric terminal, the U-configured resilient strip lying in a plane normal to deceleration due to up and down vibration of the vehicle, the U of the U-configured resilient strip being open to a transverse direction relative to a longitudinal direction of the vehicle.
