  • Patent number: 7095175
Abstract: A foil seal lamp in which even when a high temperature of the seal area is reached oxidation of the molybdenum metal foils and the molybdenum outer leads which have been placed in the seal area can be reliably prevented, and in which a long service life can be obtained. is achieved by providing the surfaces of the metal foil and the outer lead which are placed in the seal areas with protective coatings of crystalline molybdate. An increase in the amount of protective coating that can be carried is produced by surface roughening the outer leads.

  • Patent number: 6600255
Abstract: In order to provide an incandescent lamp in which an unlit state of the lamp caused by a hang-out of the coil as well as a short lifetime thereof are prevented using a simple construction and its lifetime in practical application is long, a coil (21)-like filament (20) is held in a bulb (11) by upholding parts (30, 30′) with an axis of the coil (21) being oriented in a vertical direction, and a coil pitch of the coil (21) at the upper part thereof is made narrow as compared with that of the lower part of the filament (20). Or the filament (20) of the incandescent lamp (10) is constituted by the coil (21) of a conical shape or that of a frustum of a circular cone, and the filament is arranged within the bulb (11) in such a way that it may be held by upholding parts (30, 30′) with an axis of the coil (21) of the filament (20) being oriented in a vertical direction and the one end of the oil (21) having a smaller diameter being positioned upward.

  • Patent number: 5903088
Abstract: A short arc lamp which has a lamp body in which a concave space is formed, a base plate which is located in a rear part of this body, a transparent part which is located in a front opening of the lamp body, with a frame part in its vicinity, and which hermetically encloses the concave space, and a pair of electrodes forming an arc gap in the concave space. The frame part is connected to a circular conductive ring which is provided with the roughly square cross section and is connected to the lamp body. At least a front side of the circular conductive ring is exposed to the ambient environment. A gap is formed between the frame part and the circular conductive ring. The frame part extends more to the front than the circular conductive ring, and on the exposed surface of the circular conductive ring and on a side of the projecting part of the frame part, step-like projections are formed.

  • Patent number: 5471278
Abstract: A cadmium/inert gas discharge lamp of the short arc type, which suppresses an unnecessary emission upstream and downstream of the necessary emission spectra in a wavelength range of 210 to 230 nm, achieves a high efficiency of the emission spectra in the range 210 to 230 nm and can be used in very satisfactory manner for industrial applications. Also, a highly efficient projection exposure device through the incorporation of a cadmium/rare gas discharge lamp of the short arc type having good emission spectrum characteristics in the wavelength range 210 to 230 nm, which can transmit in projecting manner fine image patterns with a large depth of focus. The cadmium/rare gas discharge lamp of the short arc type is arranged within a temperature-regulated quartz bulb, and is provided with a pair of adjacently facing electrodes, together with inert gas selected from xenon, krypton, argon, neon or mixtures of them.

  • Patent number: 5205642
Abstract: In a lamp assembly according to the present invention, a double ended lamp is securely supported in such a way that the one end of said lamp is fixed to a cap or a mirror and the other end of said lamp is fixed to a power supply member. The power supply member located in front of the mirror is made of a metal member of a higher rigidity. A flexible covered wire is secured with an adhesive, so that it may be located outside the periphery of the mirror and a connection portion of the metal member to the covered wire cannot protrude from a contour of the edge of the mirror. Therefore, the lamp assembly can be easily handled. In addition, the inclined bottom surface of a ventilating cutout in a cap ensures that the lamp can be cooled satisfactorily, leading to a long life of the lamp.
