  • Patent number: 6030252
Abstract: A waterproof connector which makes it possible to extend wires from a housing at a narrow pitch while waterproofing the wires, and which makes it possible to obtain a highly-reliable waterproofing effect, and a waterproofing-housing member which is used in the waterproof connector. The waterproof connector (10) has a housing (20) and a waterproofing-housing member (30). The waterproofing-housing member (30) includes an inner member (33) and outer members (31, 32) which are formed as integral members of the inner member (33) via hinge members (41, 42). The inner member (33) and outer members (31, 32) are formed so that the members are capable of engaging with each other. When the waterproofing-housing member (30) is engaged on a rear side of the housing (20), the waterproofing-housing member (30) is fastened to the housing (20) while a space between the waterproofing-housing member (30) and the housing (20) is waterproofed; at the same time, the wires (100) are waterproofed and extend rearward.

  • Patent number: 5829994
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a compact lever-type connector in which a lever can be fixed in specified positions. Lever (50) is installed on a side surface (24) of a housing (18) so that the lever (50) is free to pivot. The lever (50) has a lever main body (56) and an extensible lever (58) which is attached to the lever main body (56) so that the extensible lever (58) can be extended and retracted. Respective grooves (80), (82) and (84) are formed in the lever main body (56) and extensible lever (58). An arcuate rib (90) is formed on the housing (18). Only when the extensible lever (58) is extended are the grooves (80) (82) and (84) aligned so that the rib (90) can be accommodated by these grooves, thus allowing pivoting of the lever (50). In the initial and final positions of the lever (50), the extensible lever (58) can be extended and retracting relative to the lever main body (56).

  • Patent number: 5608829
Abstract: The optical connector of this invention consists of a plug housing 20 having a joining cavity 22 with bosses 22a and 22b formed on the inside walls 20a, an optical fiber protection member 40 having a plate-shaped base 42 which can be inserted in and pulled out from the joining cavity 22, and a header housing 60 having a joining protrusion 62 fitting in the joining cavity 22. When the plug housing 20 and the header housing 60 are not connected, the front end of the optical fiber 24 is located in the through opening 42a of the optical fiber protection member 40, thus protecting the optical fiber 24 from damage. Upon mating of the header housing 60 with the plug housing 20, the optical fiber protection member 40 is urged back into the plug housing 20 to expose the optical fiber 24.

  • Patent number: 5507665
Abstract: A female connector housing (10) is equipped with a rotating arm (20) which is flat with the housing (10) when the connection is complete, and is raised when the connection is incomplete. When a male connector housing (30) is inserted in the female connector housing (10), its protrusion (31) is pressed against the bottom surface (24) of the rotating arm (20) moving the rotating arm (20) away from the female connector housing (10). When the connection is accomplished, the rotating arm (20) returns to its original position against the female connector housing (10). Designated FIG. 2.

  • Patent number: 5501606
Abstract: A connector 10, 30' has a guide member 70, 60' movably latched in its housing 12, 40'. The guide member 70, 60' is used to guide and align contact portions of male contacts. The guide member 70, 60' has a plate 72 formed with a large number of through-holes 84 to pass the male contacts therethrough. Preferably, the guide member 70 is formed with side plates 78 at both sides of the plate 72 perpendicular thereto. Latching arms 92, 94, 96 are stemmed from the free ends of the side plates 78 and extend in the opposite direction, thereby minimizing the apparent length of the latching arms 92, 94, 96 which engage with respective projections 100, 102, 104 on the inner wall of the connector housing 12.

  • Patent number: 5486122
Abstract: When double-lock member (42a) is in an incompletely inserted state, the contacting part (43a) projects from the plug housing (20). In this incompletely inserted state, the plug housing (20) and cap housing (30) are in a position prior to being tentatively latched to each other, and the contacting part (43a) of the double-lock member (42a), which has not been inserted into the plug housing (20), makes contact with the end (30a) of the cap housing (30), so the drawing together of the plug housing (20) and the cap housing (30) cannot proceed. Also, the end of the bolt case (14) in which the bolt (12) is clasped into the hole (22) of the plug housing, and the bolt (12) is held in the plug housing (20) by the bolt stop plate (40). Therefore, the bolt (12) is held in an unengaged state in the when in the incompletely inserted state.

  • Patent number: 5468162
Abstract: To offer a locking connector having a double-lock device with a positioner determining the position of the contacts. Cavities 8 are formed in the housing 2. A double-lock device 50 having cavities 64 corresponding to the cavities 8 is inserted in a recess 14 in the housing 2. At the pressure section 54 of the double-lock device 50, an extension 56 is made. From the front end of the extension 56, a connector positioner 58 extends vertically downward along the joining surface 4. The positioner 58 has an opening 60 and front edge 62 which determine position of the contacting sections 102 of the contacts 100 when the double-lock device 50 is in the fully locked position.

  • Patent number: 5108309
Abstract: A dielectric housing (11) of an electrical connector (10) comprises a contact-receiving passageway (13) in which an electrical contact (25') is secured by a resilient housing lance (14). A locking member (20, 25) is movable along the passageway (13) and has a projection (21) that is positioned in a space (15) between the passageway wall (13a) and the housing lance (14) to prevent the housing lance from moving outwardly. A window (30, 31, 32, 33) is in the housing (11) and exposes a part (20b, 25b) of the locking member (20, 25) when the projection (21) is positioned in the space (15) thereby indicating the securing of the contact in the contact-receiving passageway.

  • Patent number: 4784617
Abstract: An electrical connector comprises a dielectric housing member having contact receiving passages in which electrical contact members are disposed. The resilient latching arms extend from walls of the contact receiving passages in engagement with contact members thereby retaining the contact members in position in the contact receiving passages with spaces being located between the latching arms and the walls of the contact receiving passages. A retaining member is located in the housing member and has projections disposed in the spaces between the passage walls and the latching arms thereby maintaining the latching arms in engagement with the contact members. Housing member includes a cavity along which retaining member extends. Retaining member has an inner wall including positioning holes through which contact sections of contact members extend into and along cavity with positioning holes serving to align contact sections when retaining member is positioned in cavity.
