  • Patent number: 5934411
Abstract: A checker-arm chain lubricating apparatus is provided that efficiently and surely performs lubrication on a small-size chain and a chain traveling at high speeds. When a checker arm, oscillated by a chain, is returned by the force of a return spring, a cam face of a plunger activating cam fixed to a cam shaft together with the checker-arm operates a plunger of a pump unit via a cam follower to jet lubricant from a lubricating nozzle to the chain. The above-mentioned cam face is formed at a position radially deviated from the center of the cam shaft and the normal direction of the cam face is at generally right angles to the axis of the cam shaft. Consequently, the plunger can be rapidly operated by a small oscillation angle of the checker arm and efficient lubrication in synchronization with chain travel can be performed by a small amount of lubricant jetted from the lubricating nozzle at high speeds.

  • Patent number: 4482104
Abstract: A tape cassette includes a housing; a supply reel rotatably mounted in the housing for supplying tape and having a lower flange section with teeth around the periphery thereof; a take-up reel rotatably mounted in the housing for taking up the tape; a pivot pin mounted in the housing between the supply and take-up reels; and a control member including a ring portion pivotally mounted on the pivot pin, a receiving plate secured to the ring portion and having a frictional contact surface in elastically forced contact with the underside of the lower flange section of the supply reel, and a lock member secured to the receiving plate, such that rotation of the supply reel in the rewind direction frictionally rotates the receiving plate about the pivot pin to pivot the lock member into engagement with the teeth to prevent rotation of the supply reel in the rewind direction and rotation of the supply reel in the forward playback direction frictionally rotates the receiving plate about the pivot pin to pivot the lock

  • Patent number: 4454976
Abstract: A tape cassette is so arranged that an endless tape, stored in a tape accumulating portion in a cassette body, to which a front lid is pivotally movably secured, to thereby assume an open position and a closed position with respect to a front opening in the cassette, and pulled out of the cassette body, is again drawn into the cassette body, by means of a tape drawing reel mounted in a position displaced to one side from the center of the cassette body. A pair of elastic members are disposed in an elastically contracting relation to each other, with the free ends thereof facing a tape discharge gate within the cassette body, so that the endless tape can pass through the pair of elastic members. The tape cassette further includes a rotatably mounted, reverse rotation check member; and a flexible member attached at one end or in the intermediate portion thereof to the cassette body, with the other end maintained in pressure-contact with an elastic member surrounding the flank portion of the tape drawing reel.

  • Patent number: 4290567
Abstract: In a cassette for use in a magnetic recording and/or reproducing apparatus and which is of the type having a housing containing freely rotatable reels having magnetic tape wound thereon with the tape extending between said reels being guided to direct a run thereof across an access opening in said housing, an improved brake assembly is provided for automatically preventing excess slackness in the run of tape when the cassette is disengaged from the magnetic recording and/or reproducing apparatus and for automatically releasing the tape run when the cassette is so engaged. A holder having a resiliently flexible element slidably disposed in a gap provided therein is arranged with respect to a support element such that the free end portion of the element preferably having a low coefficient of friction normally urges a tape portion into pressing contact with the support element so as to provide the braking action.
