    Abstract: A system for efficient routing in a multiple hop wireless communication network comprising a plurality of network nodes is presented. The link quality information is used in a route determination process in the infrastructure nodes using a predictive procedure. The predictive procedure uses the time varying information of link status, and a router data packets according to the determined route.

    Abstract: A matched filter requiring no high-speed processor and which consumes less power is disclosed. Partial filters 301–30N obtained by dividing number of matched filter taps by N are provided with a controller 341 for controlling which partial filters are enabled. The controller 341 is supplied with maximum amount of delay of an input signal and with symbol timing. On the basis of the maximum amount of delay, the controller 341 enables only the minimum number of partial filters 301–30n that are capable of executing an amount of computation that is required in one symbol period. The enabled partial filters are used multiple number of times per symbol period and the output, each time, integrated sample by sample. Since the disabled partial filters will not operate, it is possible to reduce power consumption and computation time.

    Abstract: Methods of recovering information encoded in a spread spectrum signal transmitted according to a spreading sequence in a communications medium are provided in which a spread spectrum signal is received from the communications medium and correlated with a spreading sequence to produce a plurality of time-offset correlations. Some of these time-offset correlations may be designed to cancel out known interfering signals. A subset of the plurality of time-offsets may then be selected, and corresponding traffic correlations may then be combined using a weighted combination to estimate information encoded in the transmitted spread spectrum signal. Receivers for implementing these methods are also provided.

In one aspect of the invention, the first searcher generates a delay profile for the first channel. A second searcher uses the delay profile to generate a set of taps for the second channel. In another aspect of the invention, the first searcher is configured to find a maximum correlation value (or a set of maximum correlation values). The second searcher shifts a search finger by an amount equal to the delay corresponding to the maximum correlation value(s). The second searcher can also shift a code corresponding to the second signal by an amount equal to the sum of the delay corresponding to the maximum correlation value(s) and a predetermined value.

The control circuit transmits a signal for allowing despreading to be performed to a sliding correlator based on the phase information. The sliding correlator despreads the N bit digital signal outputted by the A/D converter and outputs the resulting correlation output as a despreading signal.

    Abstract: A matched filter for use in a radio telephone receiver that receives Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) signals. The matched filter produces precombinations of input values to significantly reduce the number of multiplication and addition operations, compared to conventional matched filters, required to produce a correlation value. This reduced number of required operations, along with a reduced number of delay elements required to despread CDMA signals, significantly reduces the overall power consumption of the matched filter. The use of such a matched filter in a device like a cellular phone, for example, would thus lead to longer battery life.
